In Which I have some Gamer's block moment...

Good morning, my friend, dear reader of this present post! I want to wish you a happy Thursday! How are you, today? How have you been? Hope the weather is pleasant in your end? As for me, I am okay. Concerning my hobbies, I decided to revisit, painfully, the wretched dollhouse simulator aka Sims 4, the slop that overstayed its welcome, if any. And why? Maybe just morbid curiosity, they did release their new dlc. I went on a cruise to the caribbean, and in such tepid waters, I also used the occasion to try some mods for this title, hoping for less woke crap in it, and a bit more life, a bit more personality. On that front, so far I've failed. The fact this game does not have an open world like its predecessor is one major handicap, you are heavily "encouraged" to stay at home, given the visit of other localities is inconvenient and comes with many loading screens. In contrast, Sims 3 is much more intuitive on that front, it invites you to see the town, hang out, go to the ...

In which the author talks about his ABBAMANIA

One thing to know about me is I absolutely love ABBA! I'm such a fan, I love all the records and all the songs and everything about it (perhaps not necessarily the outfit they used to wear in the 70's BUT apart from that everything is perfect!). This band from the 70's really feel timeless for me and I just can't stop listening to it since I discovered it in 2016! Actually, I have a nice story to tell today, the one on how I found out about the band and how it envolved until this point we're in now!
It started with Gravity Falls! Yes! My brother told me about this crazy cartoon back in April 2016 and I decided to check it, and I was completely hooked by it! It's such a nice show, the art style enchants me and the story really catches you! But what does this have to do with me and ABBA, you might be thinking... Well, let me explain!
In one episode, it is revealed that Dipper, one of the characters, is a fan to a band called BABBA, and a small part of one of the ficcional band's songs (the most famous one) is showed on this episode: Disco Girl. I'm a curious person and I tend to pay attention to the small details, and since I was so into Gravity Falls, I decided to search for this band and the song! And I found out this band was merely a ficcional parody to the famous Swedish group I mentioned earlier, and the song didn't exist, of course. Instead, I found out the original one was called Dancing Queen. So, one other day, I decided to look for the actual song. I listened to it and I loved it! And when I love something about one music group or a singer or anything like that, just one song isn't enough, so I started to search more about it and I fell in love with one song after the other: after Dancing Queen, it came Chiquitita, I have a Dream, Fernando and The Winner Takes It All! And in December 31st of 2016 I found out another one: Happy New Year! I felt really good about liking a band that had a song for one of the most important events of the year! Anyway, that was it for 2016, but it was only the beginning!
As 2017 went on and I got Spotify, things reached another level! I started to listen to the complete albums, specially Voulez-Vous and Super Trouper, and I was madly in love with them. So we reached 2018, and in January I found this on the bookstore:
(Sorry by the quality of this image, promise the other ones will be better)

Yes! The biography of the band, by one of the experts on the subject: Carl Magnus Palm! So amazing! With this really nice book, I hopelessly fell in love with the band, and have been sharing it everywhere ever since! Well... For now this is it about ABBA! I'll have more posts on it though, this is for sure! Thank you so much for reading this! Yay!

  1. Hey, it's Mariana here! I loved this post and let me tell you something... I like ABBA too! My dad is a big fan of the group, and I found out their existence because of him and because of the marvelous musical "Mamma Mia"! My favorite ABBA song probably is "The Winner Takes it All", but the one that describes me the most is "I have a Dream". Honourable mention to "Our last Summer", "Dancing Queen" and "Chiquitita" (that helps me in the hard times of life). Nice post!
