In Which I commend the work done by the Book Redeeming the West

Good morning, my friend! I wish you a happy Friday and a happy Weekend! You also let me know if you are well, and if the weather where you are is pleasant, I hope that may be the case. This post is going to be a complement to the one of yesterday, August 20th of 2026. I really wanted to do so, and I am happy I could do it! It will be a bit of a long set of well earned and worth expressing compliments to the work of the authors I am going to mention, I would love to jump right into it! So, shall we? I did mention yesterday this incredible book I had the most privilege of reading/listening to, as I went for the audiobook. Redeeming the West: A Christian Argument for Reason and Individualism, written by Cody Lilbot, that I follow on Twitter/X, Jacob Brunton, and Ryan Graber, does the much important move that I had thought of, on my own, isolated, before. It bridges the gap between the Objectivism of Ayn Rand, and a true and in depth interpretation of the Bible and of christian ethics, sho...

In Which we Chat about my Windows 11 first impressions

Good morning! I am growing the habit of doing the beginning of the post after writing the whole piece, it is quite effective! How are you today? How are things going? I do wish you the best! Rejoice for the winds of the holidays are here! Fall (or in this case, spring) is upon us! Soon it will be lovely winter (in my case, scorching summer) and hopefully this week will be nice, one step at a time! Well, I decided to sign up for the Windows Insider stuff this Friday, cause why not, and I decided to write a bit about my superficial first impressions on the OS. What can I say, I'm a sucker for new UI...

Speaking of new UI... The new OS is cute, this is something I agree on 100%! I love the round edges, I thought I would dislike the new Start Menu, but at the end of the day, it looks much better. I believe the visual changes were very much needed, because Windows has been basically recycling the visuals and sound effects since Windows 8, that trainwreck. As a visual person, I do believe those matter.

I didn't notice many bugs, apart from a weird one where the logo of the program disappears on the taskbar, that one is a bother, but I can't see a pattern in it yet, and also some typos, but anyway, it was fairly stable, and I don't regret having tested it out this weekend, don't regret susbcribing to the Windows Insider program, it was very nice to get access to Windows 11 some days before its release, and part of me wished I've done it sooner! But, as you know, I was without a computer through July, that threw me off the digital world immensely (hated every second of it), took me the whole August AND September to return to the rhythim of things. Now I'm back in track, I think.

Overall, apart from the visual changes, I don't have much to say, as my computer is a solid computer, not a hybrid piece with touch stuff or multiscreens. My set up is pretty bare bones, and I'm still dreaming of my new desk (That should've arrived a month ago, one that I've been waiting since May). And speaking of new desk, as I'm back in track on the digital world, I restart to make plans for the future. Christmas is coming, Christmas season is upon us, alongside Halloween, Thanksgiving and so on... And Christmas means Black Friday, Cyber Monday, and gifts! Making plans on a new phone, I signed up with Adobe for the apps, access to the portfolio and so on, at least for the time being, I tried to stream yesterday but I can't do it properly without enough Ram (my computer only has 8gb available) which means I need to upgrade it. And so it goes! Lots of things! I also study getting a new chair, because this one I have has proven to be only a minor upgrade from the other... I dang want to use the computer for hours straight without getting a sore back, a sore butt. Lots of plans, not enough money. I need to pay the credit card bill, as I ordered pizza this Thursday, I also have to pay for the Adobe plan... Lots of things! Like my friend said, I could use a job, and I, again, as I'm starting to get back in track, start again to think about one. One step at a time!

The post is geting big, so I guess I should stop for now, and return with something new sooner rather than later. Thank you ever so much, my dear friend, dear reader of this post, for being here, wish you the best! Appreciate you a lot and I see you real soon.
