In Which we return to SimCity 2013, victim of blind spots...

Good afternoon, my friend, reader of this post! Happy Tuesday, how are you? How have the first week of 2025 treated you? An auspicious start, so I hope! As for me, I am okay... at moments, because I have been trying some different things on my games and computer, I feel in the dark, walking in circles with no purporse and so I become frustrated. The hobby has also caused me to be less mentally available for drawing or writing, at least over the past few days, which is also a source for dismay. In retrospect, though, it's not all bad. I think my first drawing of 2025, the cherry tree, tradition since 2022, looked quite charming, and I trust I will do some more at some point real soon, there is no reason for any stress I'd say, even if I stress all the same. The year caused me to become surprised with its walking, because on a chain of events that started with SimCity 4, released 2003, I ended up returning to the infamous title SimCity 2013, famous for ending SimCity as a franchi...

In Which I start a new At Distance Course

Hello everyone! Happy Friday!! Good morning! I wish you the best! How are you today? How are things going? As for me, I am okay! Just planning what to do today, so I can have the most of it without burning out so fast, which can happen sometimes. One of the things I am planning is work on a drawing, more than one, and also scanning some of my old work as I do it. The best place for drawing is my own house, but this week I am at my grandma’s, to save pennies and also my energy. I miss my own place, true, but here is pretty comfortable, in the sense that my bedroom at home is having mosquito issues, as well as the heat that is scaling up is making me sweat all over my bed, even with my fan, here I don’t have such issues, the bedroom has a working AC unit, and that is ideal. My chair at home is more comfortable, that’s true, though. Apart from that, I feel good making company to my grandma. Anyway, one other thing I plan on doing is studying...

Sometime ago I decided to enroll in a business and management course. I was gonna practice illustrations in a course for it, but after seeing the professors, the apparent directive of the course, I really decided to not go through it, and switch to another area instead, practicing drawing as a hobby. The course started on the 10th of October and I saw my first lessons for it this Thursday. Today, at the evening, I’ll be at the official 1st class for the course. It is an at distance one, which means I can watch and do the classes whenever I am, that’s pretty advantageous on my end, as I won’t need to spend the money to dislocate through the city, which is a major bore and expensive thing. Time will tell if this is a thing for me, business and management, but I am in high spirits at the moment. Hope it lasts.

It is also Halloween season, but I haven’t been writing much on it, have I? I do apologize, it’s just that my head is someplace else. So much that is on it, little have I time to appreciate fall, which is by the way something very distant from where I live, because alas, I live in the land of eternal summer. Right now, this summer is getting hotter and more unforgiving, which makes me look at the north and its beautiful leaves falling with much admiration and envy. As every season is the same, time stands still, making holidays ever less meaningful, really. You have to rely on your high spirits and imagination, which I have to recur on. I absolutely hate those people who are hypocrites and say brazilians should stick to their traditions and ignore the american ones. They are just anti-american and dumb. Truth is, Brazil has no tradition of its own, everything comes from abroad, and that is the beauty of it! Makes no difference if we can’t afford climatically to have beautiful german pinetrees, we’ll have them anyway cause they are beautiful and reminds us of better places than our sorrowful one, in the land of eternal summer and misery. Our food comes from abroad, from Italy, from America, from West Africa, we do add our sauce to it, to everything that comes from abroad, but still, Brazil has no tradition of their own, and that’s the beauty of it. We should embrace this, because if we keep being cynical, well, cynicism is the path to the satanic socialism, which also come from abroad. Why not import good ideas, instead of socialism, the not only bad, but evil idea? That’s my take anyway…. I do love Halloween and Fall, I just am not in the headspace for it these days, is all. I will always make place for Christmas, true, but you don’t want to compete with Christmas on my heart. Not if you are a holiday.

I suppose I should wrap things up here! This post is unbearably long, dang! And also, I will probably starts rambling about the fact that ACTUALLY Brazil has a tradition, one that comes from our portuguese forefathers, and so on, one that has been discarded in 1889, but that’s a story for another day. I wish you so much goodness, and I see you all again real soon! Probably there will be one post or two before Halloween! Again, good morning, wish you the very very best!
