An open letter to a brilliant soul

Adam, It is difficult for me to write this, partly because I know it may never receive an answer. That is all right; none is required. I am not even certain whether writing this will bring me closure. I simply wanted to say something honestly, rather than leave it forever unspoken. The truth is very simple: I wish we could have been friends. I know things did not unfold well. On the internet, on social media of all places, much is lost in translation, I regret the ways in which I may have contributed to that bad impression I did cause. So much can be lost in translation on the internet, especially when people meet one another at uncertain moments in their lives. I know that I may have made, unfortunately, a bad impression, and for whatever hurt or discomfort I caused, I am sincerely sorry. I sometimes imagine that, without my anxiety and the repetitive patterns of OCD, I might have appeared differently to you. Perhaps I would have communicated with more calm and restraint, grace, no ur...

In Which I talk further on The Sims 3

Good morning, my dear friend, reader of this post, and happy Monday! I wish you the best! How is the weather? As for me, it is quite pleasant at 25 celsius, and a lot of rain! It hasn’t been feeling like winter the past week, so to have the chillier times once more, really appreciate that. What are my plans for this new week? I hope to draw, and to enjoy my time off the best way I can. I still am learning The Sims 3, so far it is going alright. My first impression was very positive, and though I do prefer this entry to the 4th, due to all the stuff I mentioned, I have to say this one has its shortcomings too, but on a different matter. The clothing and item choices are more limited, to sure, for example. Though there is the Create a Style, we are not always on the mood to do your own custom item all the time. I am not saying, then, that is justifiable taking it out of the game, just pointing that this trade off sucks… but that is not the main issue. I think, for this entry, the performance may be a huge let down. I was having major lagging issues as I progressed through the game. Not ideal, at all. I did find out a way to improve that, which is meddle the graphics card settings. Just limited the FPS of the game, so far that did the trick. I don’t know if this is enough for me to solve this issue, BUT it seems solved, for now. Everything is first time when it comes to this entry, which is not always a good thing. I also did reach a point where I leveled up the skills of my sim the way I wanted, and reached the top ending of my job, which made me question what is next. Same issue with TS4, but at least the gameplay feels more satisfying overall. Even so, it sucks to reach a wall on sandbox games. There is only so much you can do before burning out. Now, The Sims 4, you burn out in 30 minutes max. The Sims 3 still offers, for me, that just started it, at least 3 hours of enjoyment or so, before I decide to call it a day. I still recommend the third over the fourth, due to all that I mentioned: the 4th game is lackluster, I feel uncomfortable playing it because of the wokeness in it (both in the marketing and the items), all the drama of the insufferable fanbase, they are so entitled it hurts the sould. They act more like a political group than end consumers. That being said, the company is egregious, but it takes two. They deserve each other. Go make out in hell or something. It wasnt always like that, I reckon, but one bad thing led to the other and before you know it… this madness unfolded, and with it, bringing down the credibility of the franchise, that will never recover, one ought to believe, I amongst them.

Besides this, I hope to draw… I really do, given I’m not always on the mood to do so, and since it is a hobby done for pleasure and enjoyment, rather than a job with deadlines and such, I ought no to burn myself out. Speaking of drawing, dang, I am less than a month away from my 25th birthday, how crazy that is! Imagine reaching a quarter of a century. I love birthdays, those special milestones are important and deserve to be celebrated, but also… 25, man. I don’t feel 25, in the good way, and in the bad way, too. I don’t know how to drive yet, I feel stuck in college, on a course I tend to dislike, or rather, have no idea how I will pass through, or what I’ll do with the diploma… no job perspective in the horizon. At least I have my friends, they lift me up of this depressing mood caused by this less than ideal scenario. What else is there to be said?

And, with that, time to wrap up today’s post! When can you see me again, for more ideas, thoughts, and so on? Likely around this week, before Thursday, I hope. Definitely on the weekend. It does rely on my mood to write, that is so… well, anyway, I must be off, but I see you again real soon, farewell! Don’t go too far without a compass!
