Quote of the moment Vol.2

“Any one thinking of the Holy Child as born in December would mean by it exactly what we mean by it; that Christ is not merely a summer sun of the prosperous but a winter fire for the unfortunate.” - G. K. Chesterton, The Streets of the City, The New Jerusalem

Highlighted Quotes That Caught my Attention At The Moment

In Which November 2025 ends, another November of Creative block

Good morning, my friend, reader of this post! Happy Sunday! How are you, today? Hope you have been in a good moment? Those are always important to aknowledge, and never to be taken for granted. I know that well, as this early morning, I tried to write on the post, only to feel dread, because of a strong creative block I have been facing. Perhaps was just hunger, at least in this occasion, as now that I had my breakfast, some eggs with tomato sauce, I feel much much better. How are you, in the approach of the height of the season? I am so happy and I am eager, anxious even, to celebrate the beautiful Christmas time as I can. There is the relief of having survived another ybbear, or at least to have reached its most wonderful days. In any case, how is your fall season going? Or are you from a normal place that dows not have such bizarre undertaking? The weather for me has been following a simple pattern for now: cold nights and super heat during the mornings. I will always root for the c...

In Which Joseph and his Technicolor Dreamcoat bring some Christmas Delight

Good morning, my dear friend! Happy Tuesday, how are you, today? As for me, I am okay, the days have been heating up faster, and I already am struggling with the heat again... but not all is bad, it is still the Christmas season! I have been expecting such wonderful time since Midmas (my June invention, like some do Summerween), and now, with the month of November settled, while America celebrates the Thanksgiving, which is also a beautiful Holiday, I unfortunately have little fall, barely no Halloween nor Thanksgiving, those are not widely celebrated or in some cases known holidays in Brazil, but I have Christmas, and it is not even close of being just a consolation prize, it is in fact the best of times anyway! It was quite a horrible year for Brazilians, due to advance in arbitrary rule, judicial insecurity and taxation like we haven't seen before, a tax rate that was already immense. The middle class is in peryl, and we have the hopeless feeling that our lives won't not only not get better in 2026, they could even get worse for the foreseeable future. The slums still exist, and people still have to dwell in them, and the established cities are no better looking. There are some places better than others, but the trend specially in my region is pointing to rock bottom. So, we do need our celebration of Christmas. I definitely do. We must keep the routine or else we have nothing left. I never loved Christmas so much as I do now, and that is somethinf because I always did love the holidays. Now, more than before, the holiday is a reward for surviving, enduring, we can, for now, gasp a relieved breath, because another cycle is coming to an end, and this was quite a harsh one. Personally, my own year was not exactly the worst year, but it was definitely a mentally exhausting one. Ir is of course not over yet, but at this point we can deck the halls without being judged for it.

My Anno 1800 city. Danieria Reviere, all decorated for Christmas, thanks to the cosmetic DLC "End of an Era", more on thw city and Anno 1800 bellow.

A musical enhanced my Christmas spirit, I had the delight of getting to know the musical "Joseph and his Amazing  Technicolor dreamcoat", another one by Andrew Lloyd Webber and the lyricist Tim Rice, the same duo that made Jesus Christ Superstar. While the controversial and quite avant garde musical, I still love ot but get to recognize its fame, JCS is more of an Easter event, Joseph's one feels more suited for Christmas! I am not sure exactly why, given it takes place long before the first Noel, probably because it is more of a family event, and this one positively kid friendly. Christmas is for everyone, but kids particularly thrive at the season, I know because I did, and great memories of the school vacations and the carefree days of receiving gifts and having the sweets at the supper, with the wonderful lights and decoration, those are fundamental for me and for many more. So, I did felt the holiday cheer while listening to this beautiful production.

While it is the season of cheer, I wish I could have written more, I was at my grandmas as I mentioned in another post, though, and as such, I was not on the most creative mindspace, with the routine interrupted. The one I did write was a rambly one, as my dad was annoying me with his gloominess and quirks. Fortunately I am on a better moment now, so hence a post with better spirits. I also played a bit of Anno 1800 here and there over the past days, I even decorated my main city for Christmas! How cool is that?

I should of course, at some point, write more of the releases of November, those are Europa Universalis 5, and soon to come, Anno 117: Pax Romana. The post is getting longer than I'd have preferred, which won't necessarily allow me to expand on those, but I can say for now Anno 117 is the main event, I pray and hope it may be worth the wait. A lot is on the backs of this one, given Ubisoft is in a terrible terrible state, through fault of their own. In fact, I wish Anno was not tied to this badly runned company, but it is what it is. So far the covering and the release schedule have been going well! The bumps on the demo were caused not by the game itself, more due to the limitations of a demo. Overall the spirits are high, many like Taka, the youtuber that covered a lot of Anno 1800, are already loving Anno 117, not only due to their content creation duties but seemingly genuinely thriving on this new iteration. One should hope the game is well received indeed, and may be a break from the ongoing age of the A-Pop-Calypse we are in. With that said, I should move to wrap today's post.

Some are harder to write, because I don't feel particularly creative or on a positive mood, which I prefer to be, specially on drawing and writing, but this one waa rather smooth and easy, thank Goodness! That all being said, I hope the opportunity arise for me to write more on EU5, and until then, thank you dear friend for reading today's entry. Wish you the best! See you again real real soon! Season's greetings!
