Hello everyone! Happy Wednesday to you all and also a good evening! Welcome to the post of today! How are you, and how are things going? As usual, I wish you the best, and hope you're having nice moments today, in this day of November, in which we're in Christmas season!
Like the winds of November, this month went quite fast, starting with Halloween and fall and the winds of November to lead us to Christmas time, beautiful winter and snow, and for me a lot of heat, but surprisingly some rain... will this be a rainy Summer? Let's keep our fingers crossed!
Regardless of anything, it will be hot, and regardless of anything, it will be nice days, no matter what happens, because it's christmas time, this is the power of this incredible season, that brings kindness beautiful decoration, peace, gifts, so many good things! And also brings my vacations!
Guys, I didn't realize because those days were so busy and a mess, but I'm almost on vacation!! Today my semester started to close its doors, shutting everything piece by piece, so the lights of the carefree days may shine again, lights of December and of a still nebulous and distant 2019, I won't even talk about this right now, but it does feel weird, it always does, but in the best way possible. Yes, my vacations arrived, but I still have some stuff to do for college, some tests to make, some damage control to do, since this semester was a mess, a gigantic mess, my grades are all over the place, I just hope I can get through this and really have my time free to do a lot of good things in this Christmas season. For now I celebrate that I'll at least have some more time in my hands to read and for this blog!!
And today is sketch of the week day, and I have a very special character to show you guys! It's kind of a sketch I did for my best friend, not a fanart, but just like a gift for him, for how amazing he is and for everything. Meet our character, Dennis Binette!
Dennis innaugurated a whole series of sketches I'm still working on and will keep on doing using not only color pencils, but also markers, to bring my faces to life! He brings many things I've been improving this year concerning sketches, and also managed to bring Christmas, Halloween and Thanksgiving together, a celebration of November. I decided to dedicate this to my best friend because I really like doing drawings for him, and because thinking about it, he was such an amazing person on the course of this year, this is what Dennis represents, a gathering what I have right now and the walking that I'll keep on going. He always helps me and is always there for me, and is such a positive influence in my life, this is also what I came to associate with this Sketch. I'm not the best drawer and I'll never be, I don't even know what to do, but I just love doing it, and also for him always encouraging me to be the best version of myself and just keep on drawing and improving, this is why I dedicate Dennis to him.
Dennis is enthusiastic about life, he is very upbeat and always looking forward to things, his mind is always on fire, on a very good way, as he's extremely creative and can do many things at once, mastering the art of multitasking like no one has ever seen! He has many talents, he sings, he writes, he's a fast learner, and he loves nice clothes. He can do anything he wants, though he's not too ambitious. Dennis does not want many friends, he just want the ones that makes his life even better, definitely someone that brings something else to his life. And yes, inspite of everything, like many of my last characters, he's calm and shy. I keep on falling on this pattern. But I don't care, at least for now, these are my shy and calm boys, and they're great.
Like I said, there's a lot going on beyond the character, I tried new things with markers, thanks to the encouragement of another friend who's an amazing illustrator, I dedicated him to my best friend for everything that he brought to my life, and also he's wearing a christmas sweater, which makes him one of my Christmas characters as well! Though in a shy way, as November goes on, the Christmas on every character and sketch becomes more vibrant until we're on Lapland, Finland, on the city of Elves! Or on North Pole, or anyway, someplace north, where is cold and has a lot of ice.
Anyway, this homage to my friend is what I have for today! This post ended up being way longer than I was predicting, I am so talkative, heck, as one of my other friends would say. Thank you so much for being here, dear reader! If you reach this point, thank you so much, you're the very best! Wish you a wonderful night and see you next time.
