Hello everyone! Happy Saturday to you and good end of afternoon beginning of evening! Well, or just afternoon, one good thing about summer season is that days are longer!!! And I love longer days as I have more time to do my stuff, the night, which I also love, important to say, it's on the right size, and I think this balance of Summer is pretty awesome. I know, I love winter and I love cold, but let's give credit where credit is due! Today I decided to do something quite risky but that I felt excited about and thought about giving it a try! I was watching this episode of The Good Doctor and Dr. Murphy and Mr. Glassman went with a Uber driver to look for something special, and this gave me an idea! I use Uber a lot, to go to college, to go back home, and to go to places, so I decided to do a story based on that, except what should be an ordinary event turns into quite an adventure! I'll be developing this story this week, maybe my schedule will suffer a bit because there's college and I won't be able to have ideas for my story the whole time, but I want to keep on developing it beginnign to end! I don't want it to be a long one, but I also don't want it to be just a small story, I don't know how long it will be in the end, so this will be the first part! I'll try to keep on notes about the story and try to have a intinerary to it soon so I won't get lost, but anyway... Well, without further due, let's Jump to it!
A JOURNEY TO HOME
By Daniel M.
It was just another day to Wirt, the class just finished and he was with his mind tired after a very boring lesson, one that he couldn't understand how he would apply to his life. He looked at his phone and it was 4:30PM, the class had its closing earlier that Wednesday, so that was interesting, at least one different good thing for a change, what could he think, his week was being uninspiring, not necessarily bad, but not good either, and all the stuff he had to do for his course overwhelm him and just turns his apathetic moments worse.
He sat on the wooden bench, his backpack by his side, his water bottle in his lap, empty. It was time to go home, taking his phone off the snooze mode, he opened the uber app, carefully selected his destiny, the adress of his home, observed the price, and then ordered. The designater driver was arriving in 5 minutes, that's time to still rest on the bench a bit, but not to do anything else. His mind was busy looking at the car moving in the screen going to pick him, but he could also turn his thoughts away, and his eyes were looking at the screen only physically, as his soul was someplace else, he could not notice the world around him as he considered what was he going to do when he got home, was he going to finish his book? What a weird dream he had last night, he was suddenly in Japan, and after entering in a museum he was in a submarine floating in the ocean ready to go down, and for some reason his familiars were high on drugs, how he hated drugs! They were a terrible thing that caused so much pain, what a nightmare...
"I'm about to arrive" Said the designated driver. That message made Wirt came back to life. He picked his backpack, hold his water bottle in one hand, cellphone in other, and monitored the driver as he came closer, and then a car arrived at the gates of the college, it was light blue, like the description said it would be, and of a design that was predicted on the app as well, even though Wirt couldn't tell the difference. Cautious, he noticed the name of the driver was Hannah, and so he asked.
"Who are you?"
"I'm Hannah, who are you?"
"Wirt, oh I think we're all set then! Good Afternoon! Can I put my backpack on the backseat please?"
"Of course, Good afternoon!"
Putting his stuff on the car, he sat on the front seat next to the driver, and so the trip went on. Hannah was just as the picture would say she would be, a middle aged woman, with light brown hair, dark green eyes, and some expression lines, as well as some freckles. Wirt was in his mid 19's, he was a tall boy, his hair was fairly strawberry blond, his nose was somewhat big and his eyes were light brown, he didn't have much of expression lines or freckles himself, and he was shaved, but he had some of strong eyebags that caught attention.
The traffic was mild but the trip back home was not a short one, still none said a word, Hannah was busy driving, Wirt was a bit tired, the radio was turned on in a low volume and none were bothered by the almost non existent sound of it. Wirt however, after a while, wanted to talk, as he was feeling bored and he liked to talk with people in general, when he felt comfortable enough to do so.. After a small while more, he said:
"The weather is quite hot today, isn't it?"
"Yes, I agree! Wow, such an atypical day!"
"Yes, last week was way more fresh! I miss it!"
"I miss it too, don't like the heat way too much, nice weather to be on the beach, not too good to do anything else"
"I agree..."
They kept on talking and the trip kept on going, Wirt was a bit distracted by his thoughts, talking to the driver and also mildly observing the city around him, as the car moved, the air conditioner wind blowing on his face made him more tired, but still he was going. As they come around the neighborhood, things sound calm, nothing that caught anyone's attention. Afterwards, Wirt arrived at his destination, but he quickly realized something was terribly wrong.
"Here we are sir, please remember of taking your backpack with you in your way off."
"Let me just pick my wallet so I can... Wait a second, what happened?! Hannah! My house is gone!"
On the terrain where it should be a home, nothing was standing, just dirt and the road, it was gone.
"Sir, we arrived at your destination, what is the problem?"
"My house... was supposed to be here, it is gone! GONE! How could this be?! Oh my God, Oh my God!"
'Sir, please sit down, is the destination correct then? Maybe it's just something wrong with the GPS, don't worry!"
"No... I... I remembered putting the adress like I always do! Oh no! Oh no!"
"This can be fixed sir, don't worry, I'm sure this must be a mistake..."
"Well my house was supposed to be here, it is not, it is gone, what am I supposed to do?! What will my mother say?! My mother! I must call her!"
"Take your time Wirt" Said Hannah. Any of them could actually understand what was going on, but there was no home at that place, and actually the whole neighborhood looked empty, no person to be seen, no car. Hannah turned the app offline, she was not sure what was the issue with Wirt, but that particular trip was going to take a while.
None of them knew what was going on.

And this is it for today, and we are on Sunday! Please forgive me for taking this long to write the post, yesterday I lost track of time playing the Sims and couldn't write it, and today I started it at 11AM, but writing a story is complicated and I procrastinated a lot, but anyway, here it is, the first part! What happened to the house of Wirt? Will be able to go back home? I will write the part two tomorrow if everything goes right, and I'm praying it will, but if anything I'll post it as soon as possible. Thank you so much for being here and for your patience, dear reader, you are the very best, thank you so much! I see you on the next part.
