Good morning, my friend, reader of this post! How are you, how are things going? I wish you the best, and I hope your week may go swimmingly! It is the last one of August, alas. But on the good side of things, at least I have a lot to rejoice on going towards September, I have talked about that before I believe, and I should talk about that also as September unfolds. August was not the best month, at least financially wise, not that it should've been perfect... but it was the month of my birthday, I certainly was expecting for more good tidings. But well... I hope the next few days I may work on drawings, one of the drawings I want to do is of a new palace, and maybe some more buildings, even if those can be draining and tiring to do. But well, I do want to keep on going with my own world, and I am ever so inspired by Tolkien on this journey. I am watching a documentary on J. R. R. Tolkien, and even if I am tired of the middle ages, because it's such a saturated topic nowadays, I do appreciate his work on awakening the tired shires of old Britain, bringing them to life with its wonderful creatures, all of this inspired by his Christian faith, which is nice to see how rich it can become in the hands of an intelligent talented mind, such as his. I would focus more on maybe classical antiquity, or the ever so shining 18th century, with the wonderful wigs of the nobles. But also the 19th century is so wonderful, with its clothes and art nouveau and scientific explosions of creation! The Renaissance of Italy and France, stretching towards England is also very charming, and returning to the 18th century, the courts of Russia back in the day were teeming with fireworks, marvelous rich balls and plenty of dangerous gossip and intrigue, all of this makes for a lot of wonderful stories, raw material for the imagination. I am never saying we should ditch the middle ages, but... why have this fixation with it? I suppose all the mystics and the gothic architecture, also the "wasteland waiting to be rebuilt" feeling of what was Europe in that time... Also the rich artificial inspiring gardens of Mesopotamia of that time... Maybe the manners and sophistication of Tang China... and also the fragmentation of power of the Kamakura Japan and what came afterwards. There is some appeal to those moments as well, I suppose.
I did not talk on Tolkien, at least at the moment, as much as I did of Chesterton, but anyway, I believe this is also a good post. I should also say I do have the desire to write stories at some point, I haven't done it much these days, alas. Just lack the focus, as I always lacked... It is a challenge, but maybe, one fragment after the other, I should pull something out of my magical tophat! Let us see how it should go.
And, on this note, I'd like to bring this post to its final part with a best of Instagram! Let us see what I shall find in the records.
Now what a party! This one was taken in the corn season of 2016, lots of fireworks! It was one of melancholy, true, but also one where I played Civ 5, listened to some new music and also was into DoorMonster, rhe youtube channel, back when they were still called WhiteLightningHQ. I was very fond of Kyle, and I still am. Anyway, those were the days.
With that, I should bring the post to an end! I am happy to have written another one in a shorter space of time. I have many reasons to believe the next one will be the one wrapping up August, and then I'll have one saying hello to September, we shall see! Thank you yet again for being here, dear reader of this post, my friend! You are indeed wonderful and appreciated! Happy new week! And I shall see you again on another post real real real soon!!!!!!!!!
