From a fellow Conservatarian, to dear Mr. Kirk (1993-2025)

Really, who am I? And how dare such nobody write anything? Yet I do. Yet I am quite apalled over the recent murder of Mr. Kirk, Charles Kirk. It is a name that has been present in my intellectual life for as long as I have been studying conservatism, classical liberalism, libertarianism, the set of ideas that I always had strong leanings towards, and that I effectively embraced fully in Late 2016. In the pettiness of routine, and I must add, it is a good pettiness, I was not actively following this good man, but that was on a different spectrum of conservatarianism than me. Yet, when I received the email with the headline that he was attacked, in such vicious manner, that was enough to make me to the point of throwing up. He was one of my own, a conservatarian, a contrarian, someone with intellectual curiosity and a desire to spread good ideas. Definitely far more patient than me, as he went to talk with people far opposed to his own leanings, while I prefer not to debate, I find it us...

In Which I think of writing a book? Unlikely, but the thought started to develop...

Good afternoon, my friend, reader of this post! Happy Saturday! Before we write on what I have ailing my soul at this moment, and don't worry, it is not melancholia this time, just a more productive type of frustration, I should ask how are you? How have you been? How is the weather? I want to start mentioning the weather, because it has been all over the place. I did mention of the hotter days, as if winter was gone already. Well, I am happy to say, just a few days after, it rained and the temperature got as cold as to not go above 25 celsius! What a joy!! You know, rain brings me to life, even if it was pouring cats and dogs, as the british expression goes, when I got out of the car to go to my grandma's house, and had to walk on heavy rain with my stuff before reaching the lobby of the edifice. Misadventures are a part of existence, I'd say, people that expect just bliss at all times won't celebrate neither their birthdays or Christmas, and will end up on the road to serfdom. I woe for them, I'd rather have birthdays, christmasses, and to be myself... ideally, anyway. Speaking of those ideas, I have an important topic to write about... as usual, it is a collection of thoughts, nothing too exhausting. Let us jump to it, shall we? You'll see what I mean soon enough...

So, while I adore the new traditional movement in architecture, the rediscovery, revival, vindication even, and restauration of the architecture styles that were brushed aside violently by modernism and its branches, I have been not able to fully embrace this amazing moment, adopt it entirely. While it is only natural when you have some disagreements with not the main idea - that modernism SUCKS, but some important details of some thinkers of this group, it can be also a bit discouraging. I mean, worse than being entirely wrong is being 75% correct but getting a few sides in a bad way. You know, because while I loathe the evil that is Le Corbusier, Bauhaus, everything that abolished correct ornaments, historicity and proportions in one building, I also have not dive deep into the other side, for reservations over some topics, I think I wrote about them before. I think the main issue is the fact this group does not desire to embrace classical liberalism and the good conservatism of many thinkers and craftsmen that lived some centuries ago. Instead, it aims at being bipartisan. While I also have been very vocal of my hatred of the jacobin right - Woke Right is another name for it - and specially its dumb mass politics movement, because jacobinism is the first big official mass politics movement of the age of printing press, there is a genuine individualist right-wing set of people, that should be embraced and emulated, people that were in the past quite diverse, from more traditional names such as Gilbert Chesterton, objectivist rebels such as Ayn Rand (even if she was more of a modernist in architecture terms), to the classical liberal Ludwig von Mises and its beautiful Austrian School of Economics, which I am happy to, here yes, embrace the framing of these superb scholars, to orators such as lady Thatcher, that though positively conservative, got so much right on the side of classical liberalism, even some branches of libertarianism, one could call her a conservatarian before the term existed, likely one of the most accomplished of the group, before it would be given the name, with another amazing orator, Ronald Reagan, whom brought storytelling, good humor, and practical knowledge to the science and intellect of Lady Thatcher. An individualist right-wing, I mean, and one to facilitate the comfort and convenience of a genuine modern life, that also allows and encourages beauty and ornament, in opposition to the anti-car zealots, and the horrid environmentalists. This is what bothers me, and it will cause the whole thing to fall apart: the usage of environmentalist framing in its rhetoric, the appeal to the collective, the desire to make things harder as virtue, and the fact many still see his Majesty, King Charles III, in good eyes, just because he did Poundburry. As a strong monarchist that I am, it hurts me to criticize the king, but he tests my patience constantly with his globalist agenda, and yes, it is globalist, it has the worst of the right, and the worst of the left. All that post modern garbage, that in the end points to Islam and is more than happy to dismiss Christians and Jews. There is the populist side to this movement that I grow to abhor. I am aware that in the age of internet, this bring people together of different sorts, but if there are only memes and aesthetic appeal to "own the libs", which I'm afraid is just not enough, then they will be swallowed by the social democrats of all sides, because alas, if only socialism was only on the left. It is a gnostic frame. There is so much to say on this, and because this is a casual blog for my thoughts, I try not to extend myself too much, because it just does not work on the blog format... frustrating, though! Maybe I should start considering writing more on the essay side of things? I am too casual though, for many reasons, I run from commitment...

But anyway, maybe something to ask the Artificial Intelligent assistant, for some insight, talk to a friend maybe... I will start to think about this, to write more on this theme, as the reason I draw, for example, is because no one quite gets what I want. Maybe with New Traditionalism, a reason to create my branch is in the same avenue. In any case, I wish you the best, to you that read what I write, and is a friend, even if not entirely on concur of my words. Thank you! And so, you know those words mean I am wrapping up today's post for today. I should come back, of course, blogging is never to finish, ending is not the point of journaling. I should return with more as the week goes. Probably on a totally different topic, because my mind is chaotic like that. In any case, send you a hug, a handshake, see you again real soon! Farewell!
