Quote of the moment Vol.2

“Any one thinking of the Holy Child as born in December would mean by it exactly what we mean by it; that Christ is not merely a summer sun of the prosperous but a winter fire for the unfortunate.” - G. K. Chesterton, The Streets of the City, The New Jerusalem

Highlighted Quotes That Caught my Attention At The Moment

"I am the last monarch of the old world. As Emperor, it is my duty to protect my peoples from their politicians" -Franz Joseph, Emperor of Austria-Hungary

In Which December flies in the sky with Santa Claus and the Reindeers!

Hello, my friend, reader of this present post, maybe past ones as well, perhaps future ones too. How are you, this new week? Another one for the height of the most beautiful season! How is the christmas going? For me, it is quite tranquil, I don't want to lament much. I do have some bad moments, for example, as I mentioned on the other post, when Sims 3 broke on me, and took me a week to figure out what was causing such issues. I have great news, concerning that! I figured it out: it was OneDrive! I understand better why so many have Windows 11 fatigue, though I resist to share of the sentiment. It did bother me that I was facing the OneDrive overreach issues, but once they were solved, I could resume my Sims 3 shenanigans. Of course, as I mentioned before, I was even committed to take a break from the game. Though such commitment is not necessary, nor justifiable anymore, neither is respectful towards all my hard work on figuring out the issues, an era ended with Sims 3, but another one should begin. One step at a time.

Speaking of digital age, man this picture that ChatGPT helped me bring to life, based on a doodle and a painting, such a good work by this machine!

Time is moving quite fast, this beautiful season. I always dread that Christmas passes by way too fast, could be one reason why I like to think about it as the people from the Philipines do, starting early in the year! I was not planning on only writing a new post almost a week after the other one, but time went by so fast, it happened. Hopefully this week I will have enough energy to engage in drawing, writing, and gaming, maybe some reading as well. It is the time of holidays, after all, so I should have some free time and flexible routine on my disposal. That does not always translate to energy for hobbies, but one can hope and try to keep good spirits. I wish I could have christmas decorations all around, I would go all in, have so many ornaments on the tree, but in my limited personal space in the apartment I live in, it is hard to make it so. I hope to visit grandma for the eve and the big day, we'll see how it goes, maybe I will stay for the new years too! I always worry I am not doing enough, but really, it is not the last season, and not every moment has to be with elation. I don't think that would work. And it was a year with many many strong emotions, on the good and the bad, all strong, and good and bad, exhausting for sure. I wonder how I would write about it, if at all, is a retrospective even possible, with a cycle that saw the Apopcalypse, a political firestorm and a political hurricane and so many good and bad developments, the good ones in America with Mr. Trump trying to clean up the mess of the past four years, and I am not too keen on people looking up to the executive less as a governor and more as an emperor, and the bad in my country, collapsing into a chaotic judicial insecurity state, as the different oligarchic factions make many different moves in the brutalist ugly chess of Brasilia. All looks fairer when you gaze at them from behind, it has been much more exhausting and terrifying on the ground, the news are quite disheartening. Yet I write. Such is the Christmas season of the unchartered unknown, the progression of the digital age.

When the Lord was born, you could say Judea was also in a moment of instability and many groups were on the move to claim the hearts and minds of the Judaic people. The famous pharisee and their dedication towards the mosaic law, the saducees and their skepticism over the spiritual world, the zealots that were more a political movement than a religious faction, the elements of Greek civilization increasingly seducing a more cosmopolitan hebraic urban population, while the traditionalists were dreaming with independence from the pesky Romans. Fascinating, and delightful, alive. But one must be careful, it is easy to forget all was destroyed some decades later. Not to be a herald of armagedom, but just not to fall under the trap of delighting itself too much on upward trends, or trends at all.

I think this is a good point to wrap up today's post, due to the fact in a blog, and in the way I write, there is only so much one can write before it becomes too bloated. It is a reason why at times I entertain expanding some thoughts into a book. Perhaps at some moment to be realized, but for now, just writing on this journal-blog for any reader-friend willing to listen to my ideas. In any case, happy new week! Happy Monday, and of course, I wish you the best. I should be back real soon, around this week, hopefully before next weekend. We'll see. See you real soon, in any case. Cheers and farewell, and merry Christmas season 2025!!
