In Which we Wrap up June and announce the height of a joyful Winter

Hey there, my good friend, dear reader of this post! I am happy to see you! Cheers! How was yout weekend overall? Can you believe we are already at the gates of a new month? Sweet July, the month of the height of winter! Rain, cold winds, fresh grey clouds, it is one of my favorite times of the year, if you don't count Christmas or my birthday! It is a month of the mid-year vacation for students and some teachers. There are things to look forward to, in short. One must keep going business as usual. And, as for me, regarding how I've been... I did have some challenging days, where I was plagued by apathy and deep melancholia. The medicine does help me when it avoids those conditions to form into a storm, but they don't have the ability to avoid the bad tidings when the come. I miss therapy, I hope I can return to it, but for now, with the finances being as they are... it may take a while. In any case, at least the weather is endurable. I love winter.  Not all went badly, I h...

In which the author talks about Reid Umstattd!

Hello everyone! I know I told you all I was thinking about reducing the schedule a little, 4 days was too much, already 14 posts here, yadda yadda yadda, BUT I'm not gonna do that rn, we're almost in the end of June, so I'll keep everything as it is until the end of this month, and we'll see what we'll do in July! Okay, let's go to this post to talk a little about an amazing singer!
Before we begin, how are you? How are things going? In all my rush to tell you all I almost forgot to ask, so unkind of me! I hope everything is great, and if it's not great don't enter in despair, in the future (near or not near) things will be fine, and I wish you the best. Okay okay, it's for real this time, LET ME TELL YOU A THING OR TWO ABOUT REID UMSTATTD!
If I didn't tell you all already, I love The Voice! I've been following the show since the end of season 9, back in 2015, and this show had a really positive impact on my life since then! I met new artists, new songs, and this really opened my musical horizons in ways even now I can't fully understand. I try to enjoy every season as much as I can, absorb every song, every musical note, everything, since I really love music. I get really immersed into the show and become a fan of my favorite contestants, and most of the time I still follow the career of the person even after he/she lefts the show! This last season, the 14th of the show, I had a lot of favorites and people I was rooting for, but of all of them, the one that really had a huge impact on me was Reid Umstattd!

Here's Reid, btw!
Reid, who in the past was in the alternative-rock band called Nelo (I'll talk a little bit more about this in a second), had an amazing debut to the show by singing "Take To the Pilot", by Sir Elton John! He did an impressive job at the performance and he captured my attention from the first moment he opened his mouth! His voice is strong and also soft, buttery and with so many layers I like to say it's like a rich beautiful painting! At least this was my impression of him. Adam and Alicia fought to have this fantastic singer in their teams and in the end Adam won! As for me I was just glad that this wonderful artist was on the show! In the battles, he went ahead and impressed me again by singing "Love on the Brain", by Rihanna, with his battle partner Davison. This proved that Reid can sing absolutely anything, from rock to pop, and succeed at it regardless! Unfortunately, his knockout round got montaged on the show, which is, basically cutted out, and this broke my heart, but again, he did a great job and went forward to the playoffs! There, he had his best performances on the show! He singed "I Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For" by U2 in the first day, and "Long Cool Woman (in a Black Dress)" by The Hollies in the second! Both performances were absolutely mind blowing, but in the end, shockingly for me, he didn't advanced to the top 12, a fact that destroyed me. His journey on the show may have ended, but my admiration for him and his out of this world voice are far from over! I'm a fan and he'll always be one of my favorites! The funny thing is that I'm not even into rock! I have a lot of musical genres I love and I can tell you Rock is not one of them, but this is what a true artist does: takes you to unknown terrains and catches you regardless of anything, this is what Reid does to me, and I cannot wait to see what's next on his life and career! I'm here to follow him for a long long LONG time! Anyway, just wanted to share this fantastic personality with you guys! I even made a fanart for him, let me show y'all:

I highly recommend you guys to look for him! You can find him on Twitter and on Instagram as @reidumstattd! His Instagram is great, and he's a cat dad, and his cats are the cuttest thing ever (even though I'm not the most qualified person to say anything about cats because I'm a cat person and for me every cat is the cuttest thing). Also, here're the performances I just told you about!

Take Me To the Pilot (Blind Audition)

Love on the Brain (Battle with Davison)

A grasp on his knockout round: Let if Fly (Montaged)

Both his playoffs performances: I Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For and Long Cool Woman (in a Black Dress)

Also, as I told you, he was in a band called Nelo! I checked it recently and the songs of this group are amazing, and the voice of Reid is as powerful as ever, my favorite song is Footsteps! You can find them on Spotify here:

And that's it for today! What a long post! I hope I may have introduced you to an artist I really like and may this just might improve your day a little, as it has improved mine just writing this not so small piece! Wish you all a beautiful week! See you soon!
