In Which the Blog reach 950 posts! A lovely Holiday Season approaches!

Good morning, my dear friend, and I wish you a happy Wednesday! How are you, this fine hour? As for me, I am okay, just waking up, really. The weather here is one of quiet transition, to spring. I can still use thicker blankets, but the days are longer, and the sun is more bright. Not exactly a good thing, I don't like summer, that is approaching. The only saving grace is to have Christmas season also upon us, the season of 2026! And all the memories of happy summer vacations, with the christmas trees and the great deal of lovely santas around it. Grandma used to go all in for the decor. How I miss it... I pray I can emulate it, when I can. Today, grandma is 82 years old, she is aging, as it rarely can be helped. She is tired, and she lives in an apartment nowadays, as such, she does not do the Christmas stuff as vigorously as some years before, alas.  There is no such thing as forsaking the long holiday tradition just because "times changed", whatever that means. No. Jus...

In which I share the tale of the aquatic cats!

Hello everyone! Happy Saturday to you!!! The nice and exciting Weekend is here!! Yahoo, in this yet to start November of the nice leafs and the wind that brings christmas with it sounds like a nice month, nice moments ahead of us, bad moments too, of course, but yet still going, what we can do after all? Just keep on going! I do hope you're fine today though, and you're having a good day. Are you? Anyway, as usual, I wish you the best! I'm excited for the post of today, for I'll go "at live" turn a dream I had into a small story for you guys to read and like or dislike! It's a very special dream to me, and I loved it! So, without further due, let's jump into it! And one nice hint about it, it has everything to do with cats!!!

Once upon a time, a boy entered into a petshop. He was just passing around and wasn't in the urge to get anything. He looked the animals and the products for them on the very clean place, with lots of vendors at his disposal. Walking and walking, he then saw something that very much caught his attention. In that petshop, he saw little cats swimming in an aquarium, just like fish. They were just laying there on the water, doing cat stuff, cleaning themselfs with their tongues, they sounded just like any cat, except they were underwater, and they swimmed just like dolphins. He looked for informations on the cats, but couldn't find any sign or ad or anything saying something about the creatures.
"Excuse me, sir!" Said the boy to the closest vendor, barely able to hide his amusement and shock for finding such spetacular beings, "Please, I am a bit curious, what are those animals? I looked here at the store, didn't find anything that said a word about them! Can you help me?"
"Why, of course. These are some special brand of cats that the owner of the store raise at his home! They're not available anywhere, only here! When they're mature enough, they bring some of the cats of his creation to the store, and puts them to sale! We don't like to make a fuss about them, and usually the costumers just ignore them. Actually, on this whole week, you were the first costumer to give them some attention!"
The boy had some money on his pockets and a wish to take care of some animals, he knew what to do.
"How much for them?"
"These are pretty unrequested items of our shop, they're actually for free. We just use the term "for sale" for the sake of expression. Are you interested in them?"
"I actually am..." said the boy, intrigued, "So I'll take all the four... um.. cats... available here, and if you could help me, please assist me on what I need to take care of this creatures."
"You asked the right person, young man! Let's take care of everything."
So the vendor explained to him about the cats, and gave him a small manual with information about them, wrote by the owner of the shop. He also gave him a list of everything the needed to have to properly create the cats. It was a small list, and the boy had money to spare, so he bought everything he needed and even saved some money for later. And of course, he said thank you to the vendor and took his aquatic cats home very carefully. Luckily, he left the store with only some stuff to carry, and he lived close to the shop, on a nice house with a pool.
He got home and had everything assembled, he filled the medium bowl aquarium he bought with everything requested and then something else, and then filled it with proper water, following the instructions on the manual. And then he putted the kittens on the water, and fortunately they got used to their new home pretty quickly. After a few moments of suspicion, they were already playing and doing their stuff. One of the kittens was brown, the other one was black, one of them was coffee with white and the last one was all white, they were all pretty small actually, and apparently looked the same, though the manual said each one of them had special features. The boy was in love with them, as he already putted some special cat food in the water for them to eat, he even talked to them:
"Welcome to your new home guys! We're gonna have some nice adventures together! Okay... I'm talking like a child, I'm already 16 years old, I should stop with this blabbery. Oh, you know what, I don't care, plus we're indeed going to have some cool adventures, just the 5 of us... Hm, and I think you guys need names as well..."
After the boy finished putting the food on the water, he looked at them and already knew the names, he didn't hesitate:
"You'll be called Thomas", said him pointing to the black cat, who even meowed underwater, though he couldn't hear it.
"You'll be called Hector" said him pointing to the white cat.
"You'll be called Ginger" said him pointing to the brown cat, who was playing with Hector.
"And you, I'll call you Riley!" said him pointing to the coffee and white, who was sleeping on the corner. "There it is, I'll note the names and it will probably take me some time to memorize them, but welcome home guys, you all are my new friends!". The boy left the aquarium on his desk, next to the window. He then spent some time with the cats and went to do something else. Time goes and goes and night comes. The boy say goodnight to all the cats and went to sleep.
And then something happened with Riley. He started to grow, he grew and grew. Like jelly, he slipped away from the aquarium without making too much noise and just kept on growing. The boy was sleeping with his window open. The cat was growing still, he could breathe out of water, but he would prefer to live on water. He saw the pool and didnt even hesitate, he meowed a little and ran to it, but entered there without making a louder noise. Then he grew to reach the size of a slightly bigger house cat, and there he was, on the pool.
When the boy woke up next morning, he looked through the window and there Riley was, swimming happily on the pool, just like a dolphin, meowing loudly and even purring. His parents were by the pool watching the scene, they were intrigued but not too upset, as they themselves liked cats and animals too. The boy dressed up for the day rushing and ran to see his friend on the pool.
"Wow Riley!!! Look how big you are! The manual said you guys had special features, but I didn't know this could happen!! Extraordinary!"
"So Riley is his name, huh" Said his father, "He sure is a nice creature, never saw a cat who liked water before!"
"Yea, they're pretty special, dad!"
"I can tell they are... He can't live on this pool though... We need to build him a proper tank" Said the mother, quietly.
"So we can keep them?"
"I can't see why not! He's the special feature of the house now! No other in the world has a cat like Riley, that I'm sure!"
"Thank you mom and dad! This is... amazing!"
And that's how the story ends. The boy went to the border of the pool to see Riley closely and Riley got out of the water to rub himself into the boy, already dry, as his fur was waterproof. The boy gave the cat a huge hug, and Riley accepted the hug mildly, though he didn't like it that much. Some months later, A proper water tank was built for Riley, and he happily went to live there. The other kittens were not forgotten though, they received a nice huge aquarium on the living room, and are there now, living their lifes as happy as they can be. And with that, the End.

And with that I close the post of today! Fun fact, as I had to go do some stuff I couldn't finish the story then, so it's already night here, 8:23PM, and here I am writing, finally finishing this post! Hope you liked this very weird story, completely based on a dream I had this week! Of course I added lots of stuff to it, but the core of it was untouched. Thank you so much, dear reader. See you pretty soon, I hope.
