In Which Coffee standands for comfort, and April ends with some videogame novelties

Good afternoon, my good friend, reader of this present post! How are you, today? I hope and I do pray your week has been proceeding alright? As for myself, I am okay, just recovering I suppose, from a day where my anxiety was above average! Quite the pain... not sure what caused it.  In part it is not actually that bad, concerning the fact it was a week of releases on the videogame sphere, of the niche I am happily a part of! We had the new DLC for Victoria 3, the Great Wave, focusing on the naval gameplay and Japanese Meiji Restoration. This one is causing impact on a negative note, even, because the changes in Navy gameplay broke the game in some areas, which are being fixed, currently, just yesterday two more patches were released addressing the most concerning problems.  Lovely bunny painting by VeryBerry! Zoom in for the exact username on Insta and Twitter/X!  We had the release of a huge update on the indie title Memoria Polis, a city builder more focused on storyte...

In Which there's still a lot to chat about Tourist Season!

Yesterday I got the chance to take a look in Tourist Season with Itroo, who got early access and was streaming it! I even got two content drops, which I think is a nice souvenir of me hanging out on the stream and checking everything up. Indeed, a lot to see in TS, we have the new cosmetics, such as the cherry tree, we have the new Public Mooring, who will receive an upgrade for the tourists to arrive, we have the proper hotels, where they will stay, the new recipe system on the restaurants, and surprise surprise, many items necessary for the recipes can be imported, at least for now, through Docklands, so you have to produce them. Many of those ingredients come from the orchards, that can produce a multitude of items, at least in the New World, in the old World, the only item available is the Cherry Jam. This give yet another use for your new world islands, and those islands can already be packed with coffee bean plantations for the coffee production, cotton ones for the cotton rolls for the fur coats (if you don't have any specialist that works on changing the imput in a fur dealer), as you can see, those islands are as important as ever, with all their weird shaped rivers, their long sandy beaches always on an unconvenient form... Challenge after challenge after challenge. Oh, we also have the Iron Tower, the new monument being added to the game, that I talked about on my previous Anno post, that works as a bigger restaurant. Restaurants in the game, through the recipes, have some special bonuses to offer your already existing citizens also, something the devs probably made so you don't end up packing the tourists on a special district in your city, as you do (I do, at least) with the scholars.

Why? Because Restaurants have a small range, so they should be located on good positions in your city, serving both the tourists and the population. The Iron Tower, acting like a big restaurant, looks like it should be added in the center of the city. Its range can be increased based on the amount of tourists you have, but still should be central. And there are also the omnibusses. The tourists hate to walk, so they use busses as their major form of transportation, which means the bus stations must be on very good positions through the town, I don't have the DLC yet, but I'm glad I have my Museum, my Palace, Botanical Garden and Zoo all close to each other, I hope this can make the life of the tourists easier, visiting my city. Turns out that how those busses go around is the least of your issues when it comes to them, so not adding this detail to the game, making them moved by, as I jokingly call, "Disney Magic", was a very sensible decision in the part of the devs. Like, I don't even have the DLC yet, I'm writing based on what I saw just for a few hours yesterday on Itroo's gameplay, and that is already enough content for a blog post! A blog post that is getting long, so I should stop it here! No worries, I will probably return to the Tourists real real soon, specially after I get the DLC, that will be available on Tuesday, May 25th. Well, as of now, I wish you the best and bid farewell, see you this Monday or/maybe also Wednesday!
