In Which I talk of Aero and of Blissful times, as well as the struggle against the mind gnosticism. God is Good, not the Demiurge

Good morning, sir friend, how are you today? As for me, I am okay, the week was one where I decided to bring my laptop to my portable desk table and use it reclining in bed. Not the recipe for the most productive week, that is true, but for several days, I did have relaxing moments, until decided to bring the computer back to my actual desk. I should do some desk cleansing at some point, even. Throw out some of the empty medicine boxes, I always worry to throw the wrong out, and there is this mysticism that the medicine will regenerate if I leave it there. Stupid, but at times this is where I gravitate towards. The weather has been quite nice if I can tell, we are approaching one of the best times of the year, which is the time of June-July! And then there is my birthday in August! How nice... at first I did not give it a serious thought, but maybe I could do another small personal Midmas celebration, for 2026. I know it has been an year rough around the edges concerning my finances, I...

In Which I buy a new multifunctional Printer! (Good value for money? Time will tell)

Hello my friend, reader of this post, and I'd like to wish you the best in this new week, and also a happy Sunday! Good morning! How are you today, how are things going? I am okay, I'd say! Have been watching drawing classes, which is nice. And I also got myself a new printer with a scanner! It arrived really fast, also, I ordered it on Wednesday, it came this Saturday! I paid a very good cheap price on it, so I had worries it would be a crummy product, I have had bad experiences with printers in the past, and bad experiences with HP, the brand of my new printer. I did get it, then, because the difference of price with the other multifunctional printers on the market was breathtaking, I wouldn't be able to afford the 2nd cheapest one, for example, and I couldn't count on mom's support or approval, because she is ingulfed in the anti-human approach of enviromentalism, and said "printers are bad for mother earth"... I hate this mentality, really, everything to do with eco-boring stuff. So yes, due to the big price difference and the fact I wouldn't count with mom's money or support, I got the cheapest one I could reasonably find, which was this HP one, and so I prayed for the best. Well, turns out, the thing, for now at least, works, and works very well! The scanning quality is satisfactory, it also prints well for now, as I'll take good care of it, I hope it may last for some years, even. Success, I say, for the time being, good value for money! Printers are one of those utilities you never know you need them till you don't have one available, and my friend Gerald pointed out to me that a proper scanner (not the one on the phone, that sucks, no matter how good the phone is, because a phone is not meant to scan) would be most useful, as the quality of pictures of drawings is always lackluster, because of the shadow stuff, the angle of the camera, all of this causes it to distort, absolutely not ideal. The Scanner comes with distortions as well, but those are from a different kind: the color of the drawing. The camera captures the colors of the drawing just fine, the scanner, however, do not, as I found out. Which means I'll have to start editing the drawings I do scan in the end... I don't like this idea, but I don't edit it to mask the flaws of it out, but to restore the color quality it has, diminsh the brightness of it, specially from the white paper, essentially to make the drawing look as it would IRL. I suppose there is always a trade-off to be made, but I really like having this new tool on my hands now, it should be most useful. And here is my first scanned drawing! I did some editing of it on the app of the printer-scanner, but nothing to cause much distortion on the final product,..

I mean, the quality of the material is crisp, it does not have many seen pixels, which is my main concern... But when the scanned drawing first came out, it was too bright, the colors were extremely faded, I had to make some adjustments to it. And still I haven't been able to restore the colors as they would look in person. The hair is neon-orange, for example, obviously the scanner hated this color and faded it to the ground, making it look almost grey. I mean... it doesn't look bad, I think this faded visual suits my work, but it wasn't what I had in mind... Like I mentioned before, always a trade-off, I suppose. At least the shape of the drawing is not distorted, and there are no light shadows. I did scanned with phones before, so the difference is obvious. Even on a proper scanning app, the quality of the proper scanner is unmatched, I believe. Good choice, good value for money, hope it lasts...

Well, this is it for today! Originally I was gonna write about Anno's new update and DLC, the Empire of the Skies, but in the end I really wanted to chat about the new printer and my first impressions. I hope I can come with a new post really soon to talk on the new DLC, that is super interesting and crazy (in a good way). If the winds of creativity, willingness blows my way, it shall be done tomorrow, even! Let us pray for those good forces. But either way, I will be back real real soon with more ideas, insights, updates on life and so on, here in this lovely Divagation Store.
