Highlighted Quotes That Caught my Attention At The Moment

“The great majority of people will go on observing forms that cannot be explained; they will keep Christmas Day with Christmas gifts and Christmas benedictions; they will continue to do it; and some day suddenly wake up and discover why.” – “On Christmas,” Generally Speaking

In Which we begin November 2024: A Balance of trends...

Good morning, dear reader of this post, and happy November,  and happy Saturday! How are you? How is the weather? Is it autumn for you, with the wonderful moments of the season, or are you trapped in the land of eternal summer, such as myself? Summer, associated with joy, for me is a bad season, I hate the heat, hate the sun, hate humidity, hate sweating. It is good for tourists that come here, perhaps, but terrible for me. In any case, at least the beautiful season of Christmas is indeed, here, or at least it is more acceptable to shout my love for the season of our Lord more loudly than I could in September or October. In any case, I am okay. I slept through most of Friday, because I was out of coffee, so I can't talk much about yesterday, but today, this weekend, I am okay. The weather is not that hot, yet, and I hope the summer when it is fully here - as we technically are still in spring - it won't be as devastating as the season of 23-24. With the amount of sleep I had th

In Which History Progression games are quite entertaining

Good morning, my friend, reader of this post. Happy Monday, of the last week of October, where we will have the Halloween celebrations! How are you, today, and how have you been? As for me, I am okay, I suppose. I should rejoice on not facing the same incredible mental difficulties of September, but after a while, it is hard not to take the stability for granted, which is dangerous trend, even... what have I been doing? Overall, I finished the October activities for college, thank Goodness! I have been gravitating more towards Victoria 3, I suppose history progression attracts me. Apart from this game, I tend to have other ones in mind that I'd like to try but have a strong cold feet just at the time of doing it: Anno 1800 and The Sims 3. It is very frustrating to always return to the same game, when I have others in mind I'd like to try. As I said, the history progression thing tends to catch my eye, but many times Vic3 just drains me... I did finish some audiobooks, even if I have not read much the past few days, an activity I should resume, as audiobooks do not replace the reading exercise... neither have I drawn much. I am usually dead worried of ever doing it again, due to my very low mental energy. I pray that is not the case. What a crisis... a pencil can weight tons at some days, much to ny great despair. In any case, October passed by quite fast! I should soon write a post to wrap up the month, but for today, I just wanted to stop by, write about what I've been doing... that sort of thing...

The books I finished of the audio kind are the one by Pierre M. Judson on the Habsburg Empire, and also one written by a contemporary member of this household himself, sir Eduard Habsburg! Yes, as I mentioned the other post, quite a Habsburg season, and it's not even finished yet, as I have some more to read and listen to, on this imperial family.

I have mention my desire to play some The Sims 3, this season I got many mods for this particular game, to the point my computer is full of them, making my storage problem again a factor to consider. It can be painful to see the game struggling to be executed as well, due to the amount, I may have to revisit the ones I have and so decide which ones I am keeping and which ones I am not. I must admit that installing mods and managing the game files runs the risk of being more fun than the game itself. It was the same with streaming, just messing with settings, in this case, definitely was better than the activity of streaming itself...

I trust this is a good point to wrap up this journal style post. When should I return, to the publication? Hopefully before the 31st, but if not, around that date I should wrire to wrap up October. Happy to see you, once again! And maybe you will be here for the next one as well! Who knows? I definitely will love your company for that one! As usual, I wish you the best, and I see you again real real soon! Farewell for now!
