In Which we Wrap Up January with joy and relief
Good morning, my good friend, kind reader of this following post! Happy Friday! How are you, today? How is the weather? As for me, I am okay, I would say, happy I made it through January! Financially, it has been a nightmare... in other aspects, it went okay. I have tried to take some time off Victoria 3 and specially Europa Universalis, to a moderate success, such policy will continued to be pursued in February. Alternatively, though, it has been hard to play something else, when time allows, as I cannot decide, rarely being able to choose in lesser time than 10 minutes or so, those moments are precious due to how it hurts to sit down at times. And concerning games... We that play Age of Empires 3 received some very bad news from the company developing the Definitive Edition, which mostly answers to Microsoft. Some months ago, they announced out of the blue they were working on a new DLC for such game, causing enthusiasm, but that was short lived, because it became clear their words had the weight of a feather. The DLC project first got delayed later, then completely cancelled, causing huge backlash amongst us that bothered to play it. I will say, no matter how strong the negative response to their unreliance and disrespect has been, it won't ever be enough. The industry of gaming remind us daily why they are in such a terrible state, why they deserve to be in such position, and why they will collapse in due time, it happens because reality exists, and because I think the justice of heavens apply as well...
Handsome gentleman is the uplifting image for today's post! I recently heard some talking of abandoning Pinterest, for reasons unknown to me. Yes, with Pexels, the necessity over Pinterest has diminished, but I still love that moodboard creator, and I still use it.
So, speaking of moodboards, It is egregious that the tragic DLC simulator (Sims 4) reached almost 90 dlcs released in this month, with no plans of stopping. Back in christmas time I tried giving this wretched cursed unworthy piece of software a try again, and now I signed off from it once more. I deleted it from my computer, hopefully for good. I did appreciate this niche genre, but on other entries of the franchise, given Sims 2 and 3, not Sims 4 anymore. Speaking of which, there has been rumors that they will release Sims 1 and 2 back into the gaming market, which is nice to hear. In fact, if so, I trust they will come out at 2PM today, my time. We shall see.
I finished January with 5 new drawings, it was not my most productive month... the trend for February is the same, this is a hobby, and I will not force drawings out of me, when I am not paid for it, neither have any obligation to do so. Such torture I can go through due to not drawing is just me wanting to be productive, and to just print drawings like others more talented than me do, people such as Leonardo da Vinci and the other great artists of past times. It is really not a realistic frame for me, that is just a casual and that does not even practice the techniques and so on. Such is a prejudice that modern schooling puts in someone: the idea they can do anything they want, and that they will be great at it, and they will thrive and be elevated to heavens, just by breathing. Because it is such a seductive and comforting lie, one can lay down on it, and I certainly have done so before. Reality exists, and could not be further from such illusion of the new education method, so damaging, so disruptive. Like the other idea I have, the one that I must be loved by everyone all the time all moments, it is hard to take them out of my head. It is 7 years of freedom from bad education, against 18 of mental abuse in the institution. Hard to take them out so easily. It is frustrating, really. Goes to show the right choice for school and education matter. No, I will never blame my parents for this. They not only were immensely supportive of my pursuits outside school, which I will always be grateful, bur concerning official education, there was not many other places to run towards. Education in Brazil some decades ago were 50 shades of communism, and in fact I didn't even had the worst of it... Instead of bitter, which I am really not, I am relieved to be out of these places, to be out of this dreadful phase of life. This is certainly a spirit I want to keep going for 2025: the one of relief, thankfulness, and further pursuit of truth and the ability to talk and take my thoughts out ever in a better way.
So, this was January, and tomorrow we will enter in the shortest month of the year, one that promises to be busy, if anything with the release of Civilization 7, a title I am not really that excited for. They do at times awaken my interest by, for example, adding a leader I may be interested in (They just announced Frederick II of Prussia in the base game) but I do not like most of what I see, and I am not positive about the future of the franchise. Ah... anyway, I am satisfied with what I shared with you all today, and as such, time to wrap it up. Never worry, I should be back and will be around in February, I may write a new post as soon as Tuesday of next week, so no reason to feel concerned, we should all rejoice over being alive and well, as well as one can be anyway. Wish you the best, and I see you again real soon! Farewell! Take care!
