In Which I read the Romantic Manifesto, by Mrs. Rand

Good morning, dear friend, reader of this present post! Happy Sunday, how are you? How was the rest of your week? I hope you are well, and the week went as planned? How is the weather? Here, the weather is pleasant, it is characteristic of this time of year for the weather to be as such, it is the season of colder winds and some rain, which I appreciate. Not as much rain this July, so far, as on the winter of 2017, which I think was quite rainy, but well. I am tired, feels like I am always tired these days, even if I don't want to sleep all the time.  Apart from tired, I am okay, I'd say. Not much else to say besides some moments where loneliness gets more pronounced. I wish I could meet some online friend someday, I am fond of them all!

Apart from that, I am reading a brilliant book by Mrs. Rand, whom I am so fond of. It is the Romantic Manifesto, and it gives voice to my fatigue of tropes in popular media. It is such a wonderful descriptive work on what is art, what is romanticism, what it is not, and why such movement perished at the end of the 19th century.

She emphatically separates the good of the romantic school from the chaotic mystical and eventually deadly adventures of esoterism and mysticism of the german thinkers of 18th and 19th centuries. It is true that romanticism has been announcing itself since the second half of 18th century, I think specially of the works of the painter Francisco Goya. I hear absurds such as Rococo was a trend, while classicism was the defining direction of 18th century, and I disagree with that. In fact, classicism revival, specially of the frigid, stoic kind that is the french one (not the french classical, but neoclassical, there is a great difference) , was the one that died even before the French Revolution went nuclear. I would say the apex of classical aesthetic announced its demise with the death of Mozart. Important to note I am not here dismissing classicism, I like that as well, I only resent of such tendencies on the grounds of adding friction to Rococo, which is the style I value most. Point from my rambling is: baroque had a classical interlude, then we had the explosion of the romanric aesthetic. This is the grounds of this immensely insightful book by Mrs. Rand, whom I am so fond of.

This is probably the most exciting thing I have been doing, reading this book. At first I was going to read it on the Kindle, but I ended up being offered a discount on the audiobook platform, and as such, I took it and I am back into audiobooks, which I am very much in favor of. I may keep on reading the text, because this book is that good, bur the main way for this title has become the audio one. It is what it is.

Most likely, reading has been the most exciting thing I have been doing, I suppose. I started a renovation on the house of my Sim, it has been going for a while, and I am not sure if I approve of the fornat of the house as it is, right now. It is on the grounds for changing, even, I am only being restraint by my budget. I have not been drawing as much as I would like, I have a plan for this week, but we'll see. I will also have a visit to the nutritionist, and the fact I will be weightened causes me ailment. I hope I have not gain weight. If I have, it will be only natural, but still deeply concerning, given I have been gaining weight after the surgery for a while, now. I cannot complain, I have a great dislike for exercising, I did visit my grandma over the past weeks, there are grounds for weight gain, we will see.

With all that, I am bringing this day's post to a close, and I am happy to see you here, it has been a pleasure to be here, though my eyes get very heavy every time I recline in bed. I should return ro the publication soon, hopefully before next weekend! Wish you the best, happy Monday if I haven't said already.
