In Which one cannot build a nice house in rocky unstable foundations

Good morning, dear reader of this post, my friend. How are you, in this first week of July? I hope your last month went well? For me, because of the college work being more demanding alongside other woes, I cannot say I particularly thrived in those two last ones, neither in May, or June. It is not fault of Winter or Fall, and I will not take people blaming the best weather of the year for the faults of some assignments and deep loneliness. I am sad that, in June, I could not do much to aknowledge Midmas, but it is not fault of this quirky little thing I have tried to make it happen with me, and again, I won't take people blaming my longing for Christmas. And if anything, there is July, we will see if I will do a postcard or something. Anyway, the weather is lovely, and even with my financial concerns, I cannot say exactly that June will end on a sad note or downward trend. Just turbulence. If anything, it was also the blog's anniversary on the 8th! That is wonderful, isn't it.

I was listening to the music of the great composer that I adore Gabriel Faure, could as well be my favorite. Every piece that I have listened by this gifted monsieur tend to enchant me to end. If one composer had to be picked to most represent the sound of the Belle Epoque, Gabriel Faure would be my main choice. Such bliss in his work, as well as a longing for better personal memories. Quite dreamy without being innapropriate. What a craftsman! The fact Civilization 5 has some of his work for the soundtrack of the game elevates this title to the pantheon of the greatest games concerning music choice and curation, with Civ 4 being in the top 10.

I fear at times I fail to register the passing days and its happenings. As 2025, this year is not a bad year, in fact it has been revealing itself to be a promising one. I will wait for a better judgement, there is an election coming to this territory I live in, and that I suffer with their terrible trends moved by the worst of ideas and the lowest of the impulses. We cannot face four more years of a predatory left and its socialist leanings, with all the woes that come with it. The argument that it doesn't matter who is in charge is anachronic to Brazil, a place where the putrid miasma of government has poisoned the land to terminal sickness. Maybe a more right leaning person can't do much, but I would rather have this stalemate than the tide of communism that spreads fast and gleefully in the hands of the butchers in the towers of disgrace. The trend is horrifying, as in China, one of the role models for the demolishers here, they are pushing for parents to teach their kids to love communism. I cannot picture something more evil. Soon, or at least in China, and I weep for the chinese having to endure such torture for so long, it will be a crime not to clap hard enough for the tune of the party. I am tired, they never cease to find ways to make life worse on Earth. No wonder so many lie flat. There is not much else to do.

I had a realization when thinking on why brazilian cities are so ugly, and it is entirely tied to the communist leanings on the top, in many more ways than one. I credit the fact the buildings are done in a brutal empty facade on judicial insecurity, the chaotic tribute scenario of the country too. Why do you desire to build a nice facility for your shop, maybe with stained glass and some delicate ornated columns, if on the other day, someone may look at you funny, someone with connections, and you have to forsake the place? What is the point of having a nice statue if so many addicted lost souls may take it from you to sell on the black market, in exchange for some illicit substance? The drug issue is one of the malaises of a people that feel their very soul do not belong to them, but belong to the bureocrat that pushes the pen, that rejoices in malicious glee to take away something from a potential enemy, acting like an agent of heaven, to impose suffering into the damned that don't have the right friends.

This is not a doomer saying, I am never to say "it is so over" (I hate these expressions anyway), it is just a guess, a diagnosis, that I pray hope someday can be remedies, can be mitigated, can be finally demolished. I pray for more beauty around, trees and palladian gardens, nice row of houses for individuals, not a collective group chopped here and there at the caprice of the chairman. It will not be done if the painful diagnosis can't be named. It is true reality invites desperation, but many cannot afford to lose hope, I included, have no means to flee in the near to mid even far future, so one goes, barely walking, but the alternative is much more sinister. One must move forward, against so many bad impositions from Brasilia and so on. It is what it is.

I think this is something I wanted to throw out there, to perhaps be read by a likeminded friend. Happy to have written once more, I can never take my creative hobbies for granted. It seems grim, but it is actually a good way to start July, it invites hope to have had this breakthrough, even personally, I may have another substancial puzzle for my book project. All of that being said, I trust it is time to wrap today's post, it is too big for its own good. Thank you, my friend, for being here! Thank you for being kind and receptive, and I wish you the best. Worry not, I should return real soon with more words and ideas. Hopefully by Sunday of this week. We'll see... farewell just for now!!!
