In Which I celebrate my Birthday once more! Perhaps a quiet birthday one?

Good morning to dear friend, reader of this present post! Happy Wednesday, August 12! It is the day of my birthday, a day that I am quite fond of. I should officially be 28 at 5PM, which is the time of my deliverance. What are your plans for today? As for me, I am not entirely sure. One reason why the idea of a birthday season is to have more time to celebrate, given at the precise day of your birthday you may not be on full energy. It is also remarkably early still, at 9 and a half in the morning. Maybe some cake is in order, it is also the time I can have a slice of pizza... all I wish was to hear from my friend Johannes, but that likely won't go anywhere, so why bother. If he could reach out, it would be enough to make my week as bright as the Proxima Centauri. I should not dare to dream of such joy. It is not healthy when you cannot have it.

The drawing for today's celebration! It has become a tradition of mine since around 2022 I think!

Dad invited me to the movies, but he wanted to see the infamous Odyssey by Mr. Nolan, which I not only refused, but advised him against seeing it. We should keep our original plans of going out at the end of the month. Not sure if mom will have a birthday cake for me, I would be happy if any could come, but I won't insist. I have mentioned before, I don't like visiting my grandparents that live nearby, I love them, but given we have profoundly differences when it comes to worldview, they being communists and I being a Thatcherite conservatarian, I would be on the challenge of not stepping into explosive eggshells, as it is. And even if nothing is mentioned, they may say something that will anger me to the point of tears, like denying private property as a right, or just naysaying businessmen, which I am fond of. But I feel bad as I genuinely like them a lot, warts (many of them) and all.

Concerning gifts, I'd just be happy if, anyone in the family that wants, to just give some pennies so I can pay some dues, that is all. Maybe I will have something to spare for a new cushioned slipper, given my current ones have a hole in their sole. Not ideal. If I am to get new ones, I'd get the most disgustingly lovely flamboyant ones, just because I like them. I would love for a new phone, but that is a long long term project, it seems. I was brought to my knees thanks to the disaster that was iOs 27 beta 4, emphasis on the 4, because the other three weren't nearly as bad. By divine intervention, though, after a delay, they on Apple dev team did release a new beta, beta 5, and as such, the phone is much better and back on track. Most issues were fortunately mitigated, solved, or just went away thanks for the better coding or something...

I don't exactly feel that prone to videogames today, for some reason, or at least not at this precise moment. Maybe Sims 3 will cheer me up a bit, on that department. They did release a new set of fixes for Victoria 3, so I wait for some mods to be updated accordingly. I wish I could play Civ 5 at times, but the AI behavior needs some tuning, and I have bad memories from when I was more active on the mod Vox Populi, not a task for this precise morning.

Right now, I am just resting, I pray hope that I can get some enough desire to get out of reclining in bed. I already worked on the birthday drawing. I could expand my writing to the side-blog I have created on Substack, for the purpose of preserving this one main journal, and just making it more resilient to accidental purges. We will see. For now, I am just happy to see you, my friend, reader of this post! May be a year of a quiet birthday, and perhaps another one of them, just because I have at this moment not much energy nor entusiasm. And with that, I should wrap up the birthday post, and I should come back around the rest of the week, hopefully before the weekend, so I can share more thoughts, ideas, quotidian remarks, with the friend that is here. Anyway, see you again real soon, don't worry, and cheers!
