Highlighted Quotes That Caught my Attention At The Moment

“The first fact about the celebration of birthdays is that it is a good way of affirming defiantly, and even flamboyantly, that it is a good thing to be alive.” – G.K. Chesterton.

In Which I plan my Christmas Card for 2024

Good morning, dear friend, reader of this post. Happy Sunday, and I wish you the best, both today and on the new week. I must say: September is going by very fast. It is not a bad thing on its own, but I dread the approximation of Summer. There is the bright side the season of holidays is coning, with special dates such as Halloween, Thanksgiving and Christmas, specially Christmas on my end, since it is my favorite one. How are you, this Sunday? I was here very recently, so I do not expect you to be that much in a different mood, even if a lot can happen in even a couple of hours. s for me, I am... still afloat, recovering from a harsh day, of many tears and no hope. As I try to occupy my free time, I did manage to play some games, such as Sims 3, and Europa Universalis, as well as trying Victoria 3 once again. On Sims 3, as I was in much distress, I decided that I would treat myself to some expansions of the game that I was missing: those were the niche last one released for the game:

In Which I ask: Is the Era of Idols gone?

Good morning, dear reader of this post, my friend, and happy Wednesday! How are you, today? I had some thoughts about another generation, the one I was part of, that I would like to share. But first, how are you, today? I wish you the best! Hope you may have a nice brunch! I am okay, though a bit burn out on the games I play, most unfortunately. I even considered restarting a game on Anno 1800! Imagine that, losing all progress in my current save just to begin building again… I have done that before, not really ready for this step again right now, though. I could use some new games, I tried Cities Skylines 2, released yesterday, this early morning, but the game had a real chance of jeopardizing my computer, due to its demand on the engine, so I decided not to proceed with it, at least for now. The game was released in such a bad state of optimization that the guys who got the game are smashing the title on the reviews, that are around 26% of approval the last time I checked, abysmal. Is it deserved? In this case, I can’t see why it wouldn’t be, if you can’t run the game on a high end machine, and the top 1% of computers on the market struggle to make it work, even… I can’t see a different outcome. I hope the game get proper support soon, before it is too late. I almost feel tempted to instead give Cities 1 another try… almost. Well, I really hope Victoria 3 gets its patch update entire release sooner rather than later, as ai am tired of playing with the beta already. I love some of the new features and cannot wait to try more of it out, as soon as the update comes out in its entirety. Europa Universalis 4 is coming with a new dlc in two weeks, November 6th! That is excellent, as I want to have more new flavor into this game I appreciate. I am concerned over some of the changes, but still, I want to try it out. Okay, now for the thoughts…

I must say I don’t understand, anymore, why, in the bygone age of Idols, people would want their “idol” to follow them on social media so much. Whatever that means? Specially if he person is busy, and most definitely he is, and following hundred other accounts, the likes in which he sees you are pretty limited, if it took you a while before he noticed you in the first place. Also, back in the day, around 2015-2018, I doubt I was as articulate as to give a positive impression over the “content” I’d put out. To be fair, not like the celebrity in question would be any different. I think this period of time is gone for most people, and won’t be back for this generation of young folk. There is a lost of enchantment over the world of “music” if we can call it that, and celebrity. A tendency that was announced long ago seems to be more solidified now, which is of a fragmented culture where many don’t see eye to eye. I don’t think we live in the radio, neither the tv era anymore, Internet had an impact as to give more power to the folk to choose what to watch, whom to hang out with, that makes the difference. I don’t see people asking other for follows anymore, not in that gleeful way of “connecting with our hero”. Are there any heroes, today, anymore? Too much exposure came to destroy these illusions. That is how I perceive it. Today, I tend to value dear friends having me around on their social media much more than someone I will most likely never have the chance to have a meaningful connection with. Neither me nor the person have time for that anyway.

What do you think of what I said? Is it a valid assumption to say the age of fan clubs and idols is gone, and most likely for good? Have I lost touch with the younger ones? Am I too deep into my own subculture to see any mainstream anymore? I can only say what I perceive. I think, if there is still an unifying mainstream factor, it is not what it once was, and much was done to harm the franchises of old. Everything socialist ideas touch, rot and die, it is what I acidly call “the touch of m***das” (that is the spanish word for s**t).

I like this post that I wrote today, happy with what I said, therefore time to wrap things up! As always, you honor me with your attention! Thank you my excellent dear reader! If you are to return, I should also be back at some point real soon, most likely around the end-month to wrap up Spooky October, but I will see if I can return early than that. Let me know how are you enjoying fall season. Or Springtime, if you like me is in the south. Cheers, and see you real soon!!!
