In Which It is a less traumatic week, thank God
Good morning, dear friend, reader of the present post, and maybe other ones too! How are you? This week went by faster than I was anticipating, much faster. Fortunately, so far, it has been a less traumatic one, in comparison to the other week. Thank God most of days are uneventful, if we were to have a week filled with tragedies of the highest extent all the time, I am not sure how any of us would survive.
There are some small but welcome good news: iOs 26, the new edition of their operational system, and as I mentioned before, it is a bold different direction for Apple, which I appreciate greatly, specially because I find myself loving the liquid glass design! It is delightful. This game, Town To City, got released, it is an indie title of the city building sort, and it does look great. I have other game by that company, Station to Station, that I should visit at some point, for that one looks charming as well. I know, too many games, not enough time, but at least with me having finished the college activities for September, I have some more guilt-free leisure time, that I do want to fill with the games, and the drawings, reading and writing. It is the best one can do.
Since we are talking of good moments, next week should be one of releases: Victoria 3, that game I love, that by far is conquering 2025, will be having its new Patch Update 1.10 and DLC coming out on the Tuesday, the 23rd. Of the top of my head, this is the one I can point to that is part of my routine. On the realm of games I follow and have on ny library, vaguely, but haven't fully tried, Ara: History Untold, will come out with a new update. Ara has been a bit of a disappointment, not as bad of a flop as the highly experimental Millenia, but still, have not made much of an impact even on his niche. We should see how the Update breathes new life to the game, if any. Neither Humankind, nor Ara, not even Civ 6, have replaced my beloved Civ 5 on this genre of games, anyway.
It has been the end of an era on Civ 5, though. I reached a glass ceiling when mods are concerned. The 32bit frame of this title limits severely its scope, in comparison to the 6th entry. This means Vox Populi, the mod I have been exploring for most of this year, did not adapt well, if at all, to my style of gameplay. That is really quite distressing, but it gives me an excuse to try a more vanilla experience of this game once more. What is worse is the fact there is little to be done to mitigate the performance issues and crashes on Vox Populi, besides downsizing the map and playing with less civs, and lowering graphic configurations. Neither are compromises I see as worth taking, as such, I am happier if taking Vox Populi aside, for now at least. Soul crushing, but it is what it is.
Moving towards wrapping up today's entry, I must again confirm gleefully that it is an immense honor to have you here. Thank you so much! Anyone that reads my words is appreciated! What will you be doing for the weekend? Do let me know! As for me, probably not anything in special, just rest and I pray that Lord above give me a bit of desire to draw, and to overcome my chronic fear of the blank page. When should I return to this present publication for some more unfiltered thoughts and ideas? I hope in the beginning of next week, but perhaps sooner, we'll see... wish you the best, or course, and have a beautiful Friday! Cheers!!
