In Which Civilization has a SimCity moment, a bad omen

Hello there, my good friend, kind reader of this post! Happy Friday! Hopefully another beautiful day, maybe we should indeed give it the benefit of the doubt! How are you, my friend? How have you been? I have not write much these days, alas... It is that thing of having some stuff in my head but not being able to take them out to my satisfaction. I mean, we could as well be seeing the collapse of the Civilization franchise, for example. I think I wrote it before here, that I am not optimistic about this title, that their heart (if at all) is in the wrong place for this entry... I could smell the miasma, but now it is clear: reality is even worse than the predictions and projections of before. The Steam consensus, this morning, got as low as 33%, an absolute catastrophic number for the franchise, it is a snapshot of the bad User Interface, the lack of customisation on the game, its mechanics ossifying the main building, or ot is what is implied on even the milder of reviews. I did not h...

In which we talk about Christmas Stuff and The Crown

Hello everyone and good morning and happy Tuesday! How are you today and how are things going? As usual, I wish you the best, and hope all is well with you. Feel free to tell me how are things on the comments or send me an email, and I'll reply so we can have a nice chit chat! Also, I'll be streaming today at some point, sooner rather than later, and with that if you'd like to catch up with me feel free to stop by! How is the weather? Here it is very much summer, alas, I had to vote this Sunday, and let me tell you, it was AWFUL! Monday was just slightly better, I did managed to go to the Gym and do some treadmill time though, something I kinda need, since losing weight would be something I wouldn't mind at all, for many many reasons, but I'm not in a hurry, and I hate exercising. My friends provided me with very much needed support though, and for that I'm grateful. Anyway, let's advance on this awesome post! I have some stuff to say! (No worries, it is nothing serious)

My room is already decked for Christmas, lots of trees on the walls, unfortunately I don't have much space for trees in my bedroom, and my mother, when she wants to be, can be very practical, so I don't think she would agree with christmas decorations either. I'd really love that, but I doubt it. Where to put it on the rest of the year, specially since we live in an average apartment with not much space for storing christmas stuff? Yes, it is complicated. I am extremely excited for this wonderful time of year that for me has already arrived, even if Grandpa is at the hospital, meaning those are uncertain times. I'd love a very good surprise this year, but the thing about surprises is: they come when you least expect it, that's why they are surprises, so yea. Focusing on the good once more, as yesterday wasn't my best day, I finished watching The Crown season 4, which portrayed my political soulmate, the ever strong Margaret Thatcher, in a wonderful way in one side, but also less than what I'd like to see on the other. Margaret however, would deserve a whole series dedicated to her, because that's how much impactful this key figure is, bringing the forces of the free market and shaking the ever foundation of socialism, that evil gospel of envy and violence, in a moment where the world needed the most, after decades of interventionism on economics and nanny state, leaving once powerful nations, such as the United Kingdom, engulfed in debt and disgrace, crisis and social unrest. The series also bring the troubled and inexperienced Diana Spencer to the scene. Marrying to an extremely troubled man himself, the Prince of Wales, Charles, she, as Catherine The Great of Russia, saw a loveless marriage with many downs and not many ups to counterbalance. This mixture of Elisabeth of Austria, Marie Antoinette and Catherine, bringing the eating disorders of Elisabeth, the charisma and double edged sword of fame of Marie, and the grave unluck in love of Catherine, will suffer greatly. Her heyday in the show is the Australian Episode "Nobody's Country", and it doesn't get better from there at all. Seeing all the storms Elizabeth II of the United Kingdom had to face, all the ups and downs of her reign, the decline in the 60s and 70s and then reemergence of Britain in the 80s, not as an empire anymore, alas, but at least as economic powerhouse once more, it is extremely hard not to see her, surviving more than 70 years of rule, and not understand that she is one of the most resilient and strong figures in British History. It is easy to see the Institution of Monarchy with critical eyes, all the sides will find something to poke at. As for me, I consider to be a crucial one, and all its peryls just comprove how fundamental it is. Anyway, this post is getting quite long, I should be going, sorry for not being able to write yesterday, I'm at least writing today, and I hope to write once more (more than once, if I can) this week! Thank you so much for being here, dear reader, love you, see you real soon!
