In Which We talk of Books and the rush to the grocery market

Hello, my good friend, and reader of this present post!! Happy Thursday! How are you today? How have you been? As for me, I am okay, though also feeling odd. Finished for the second time the audiobook of Human Action, the economic treatise by Ludwig von Mises. I feel accomplished and even if it was quite a big work by Mises, having 60 something hours, and around 1000 pages, as I once again listened at my own pace, and as I am very fond of his prose and am taken entirely by most of his ideas, only not quite subscribing to some fringe details here and there, it was nothing but a pleasure! A great and pleasant intellectual milestone on the journey of intellect. One that I went through before, but gladly doing it again. I only wish more people could take time to get themselves acquainted to this giant economist, the greatest knight of classical liberalism and common sense. If this is not the truth in its entirety, it is definitely close to it, or rather pointing towards it. Of course, one ...

In Which We Open The Blog's Birthday Week!

Hello, dear reader of this post! Welcome in to this Blog's Birthday week! How awesome is that? As a way to celebrate, I want to do a stream on the 8th doing some art for the blog, and perhaps I may do a stream today as well, even if I'm not sure what I'll be doing! Maybe even more art, because art is awesome! Speaking of Art, I'd like to take this moment to bring to light yet again one of my favorite composers: Gabriel Fauré. The works I've heard of him have such a soft touch that really is capable of comforting one's bad day! I brought Sicilienne in September 2018 if I'm not mistaken, but I'd like to bring it again, because that was almost 4 years ago, and I don't think it's worth scrolling down to so long ago. But I also want to bring to light another piece by him: Après un Rêve! Both those compositions are listened bellow!

Not only a distinguished man, he also had quite a lovely moustache!

Après un RĂŞve - Après Un Reve on Youtube (the video features the spoken words of this piece, that I've no idea it had in the first place! The more you learn)

Sicilienne - Sicilienne on Youtube (Orchestral version, featured in Civilization 5)

I did spoke about Sicilienne before, but I can't stress enough what a strong impact it had in me, as I played Civilization 5, the last game of the franchise so far that really introduced me to some wonderful classical music. The precedent for that was set by Civilization 4's wonderful choices, though not too accurate, but for imagination it really doesn't have to be! I am truly rejoiced to have reached such a point on this publication, I mean, 4 years and more than 450 posts! It is a commitment I'm not used to having, at all! Speaking of commitment, I finished that drawing I was working on, finally, and I'd love to share it with you guys!

It is an absolute joy to finish yet another massive undertaking, drawing buildings is not easy! To be fair, drawing is anything but easy, even my cartoony, childish style took years to mature somehow, and I'm yet to be comfortable with straight lines, or perfect circles, and so on. My trace has improved immensely since 2014, or even 2018, that's very much so, but I am yet to learn and practice and create a great deal more, if God wishes me to keep on doing it. I haven't written much on the first post of celebration of 4 years of blogging, but I think I brought something to light, and that is the music of Fauré, a wonderful composer. Both a traditionalist and an innovator, a kind gentleman who managed to be widely celebrated even in his long life, such is the power of an musical ear and a gentle heart. He is indeed a good representative of the Divagation Store, the one we stand right now! So, I believe this is it for today! But this week we will celebrate! Hopefully I'll be back, if not tomorrow, real soon with stuffs for our enjoyment and wanderness!
