In Which Civilization has a SimCity moment, a bad omen

Hello there, my good friend, kind reader of this post! Happy Friday! Hopefully another beautiful day, maybe we should indeed give it the benefit of the doubt! How are you, my friend? How have you been? I have not write much these days, alas... It is that thing of having some stuff in my head but not being able to take them out to my satisfaction. I mean, we could as well be seeing the collapse of the Civilization franchise, for example. I think I wrote it before here, that I am not optimistic about this title, that their heart (if at all) is in the wrong place for this entry... I could smell the miasma, but now it is clear: reality is even worse than the predictions and projections of before. The Steam consensus, this morning, got as low as 33%, an absolute catastrophic number for the franchise, it is a snapshot of the bad User Interface, the lack of customisation on the game, its mechanics ossifying the main building, or ot is what is implied on even the milder of reviews. I did not h...

In Which I have a lot of things going wrong in Anno at the moment... Downwards!

I have a lot to chat about today! We should jump to it, but before we do that, I'd like to say good morning! And feel free to tell me how are you, how is the weather, as we go along with this post! So... Anno is broken, unfortunately! Remember when I wrote about my first impressions on the DLC? Well, it turns out the new patch came with many more problems of its own, and many are very upset with that, rightly so. I think I realize something was wrong when I couldn't finish the Iron Tower quest chain, that would glitch at a certain point. That would be the most visual issue I faced, but not the only one. Maybe the habit of the AI to keep throwing an unhealthy amount of pamphlets at my island out of nowhere may be a glitch as well. Not only that, but a far more serious issue is in the game now: Consumption rates are absolutely and undoubtlely broken. I don't know, as I am no dev or programming whiz, if this has to do with the new lifestyle needs added (which I will say it is a good addition to the game, my opinion), but bikes are missing way too faster than they should. Soap is also on a shortage way faster than before, requiring you to, in a late-game stage, to massively overproduce it just to keep the needs of your Engineers (that want soap as a lifestyle need) and the needs of your workers and Artisans on check. When I write this, it's very odd that on contrast, the hot sauce workers want (I say want when is a lifestyle need) barely move out of the inventory. For a game of supply chains, needs, wants and providing them to your citizens, this issue is massive, massive. I wont say unforgivable, but it is making me wanting to just quit Anno for now until we have a proper hotfix. Airships, that cost a lot of influence points, are not being affected by the buffs of your investment in trading vessels, and that is a major issue as well. Another infuriating bug is the fact the research institute doesn't provide the info on the things you are researching anymore, when you identify them. It is a major mess, the game right now. I mean, on the surface you can still play the game and it seems okay, it's just after sometime, when you are already invested in it, that the cracks start to show, and they keep getting bigger as the time you invest goes by, until the whole building falls upon you. Taka is rage quitting, with reason. I am not Taka, but I sorta rage quit as well... And it painfully remind me of the trainwreck that is The Sims 4, which sadly was elected by me as the paradigm of things going wrong in games: from the endless amount of redundant packs, that are also overpriced, to the amount of horrible glitches, to the wokeness - leftism - promoted by that infamous game, and this if you don't count the fact that the endgame is a glitch in itself, for many - I can't say it because It's my first ewntry on the franchise - the worst game of the Sims franchise. I can see why so many people hate EA, and even if I don't share that hatred, I can understand where that is coming from.

Oh dear, I really wanted to make a post about misc stuff, such as drawings, such as Halloween, such as drawings, such as Christmas season, such as Victoria 3 that is coming out only 14 or so days from now, such as my new course I'm doing - business and management, at distance, but it seemed that I felt like I needed to adress the issues Anno is having at the moment, they are many and the patch is taking an unforgivable amount of time to come out... And I have to apologize for not being around as much these days. I have a lot I truly want to write about, as you saw above. I just feel bad, six days between posts seems like a lot, for my standards, but then again this blog is for fun and my personal amusement... well, and this post is getting too long for my standards so it's time to wrap things up!!! Thank you, my dear friend, the reader of this post, for being here! It means the world to me! Anno probably won't be fixed on the next time I write another post, because that one (the new post) is coming real soon, and the other thing (Anno hotfix), is nowhere to be seen. So... wish you the best, see you again, per usual, real, real REAL soon! Happy Wednesday!
