In Which Apple takes a chance on a new UI and OS Approach, and the Anniversary Week goes not bad at all
Good evening-morning, my good friend that I cherish, reader of this post! How are you today? How is the weather in the big world out there? As for me, I am okay right now, yesterday was a big day for the Apple fans out there, and I can't help but still be one of them. They released iOs 26 for the dev beta branch, which I am subscribed to, and as I have a thing for new UI and new software frames, it's the bitty bit of tech nerd in me that stands, though don't ask me about how it happens, I won't understand much, you know, every technology sufficiently advanced is indistinguishible from magic, as it is one of my weak spots, I did get the new iOs on my old but still running solid iPhone 11. I am happy the 7 year old model, that has become outdated due to the current AI revolution going on, still was supported by the new revamp. Credit where its due to Apple. I do see that many are very underwhelmed with the new design, the many bugs and glitches that came with the beta. I understand and think those need to be addressed, and the UI is not there yet, though it looks very promising, but also, for me personally, I don't find many grievances because this is a very early functioning beta, for a select group of people that opt-in to the testing program, and my phone is old at this point, I was already expecting the lag, the battery drain, and the myriad of bugs and glitches, that are big enough to be a nuisance but not enough to go to the protocol of reporting them. I am happy to have tried this new design, it is rough around the edges but it is a needed overhaul, given the old model was hitting a wall on innovation. They could of course kept on it, but I don't think the new approach is bad, at all, and if anything it does remind me of the Frutiger Aero aesthetic I do appreciate in the tech world, I think having a bit of that back is much welcome.
In another note, I did make a small doodle celebrating the 7 years of my blog! It is a bit rough around the edges as well, I may either do a new one, or keep painting the parts I want to add more color to on this one I have done already, but in the end, just a small souvenir to celebrate this nice personal milestone, and to share it with the friends-supporters that are with me on this writing journey through my own life and the world around me. Maybe this big publication deserves something more polished, but that is a bit against my own approach on the divagation store. You know, a place for me to write my thoughts, ideas, takes, usually in one go, and that for better or worse, I avoid revisions, and usually I don't read the piece again. So, a more rough sketch is a good fit, it is fine for it to be less polished, just throwing the ideas out there and getting something done. It is what it is, and it blows my mind some like what I write, and like what I draw, you guys are the best, really. Send Ruben a hug, and also a hug to John and Charles in special. You guys are freaking great.
Just happy to be able to lay down a bit this evening and write this new entry in the week to celebrate my personal project. It is not to be taken lightly, because it is not always where I can just writr my thoughts down in one go. I do prefer it like that, if I can help it, because when I let it sit for too long, I lose the theme of the moment, and the whole piece gets disjointed. I don't cringe anymore with my thoughts and raw words, with time and study you can refine them while keeping the original intention intact, but I also don't go on re-reading it too much, That also hurts the fluidity of the piece. Anyway, this post is getting a bit on the bigger side, you know I prefer to keep it on the shorter one, if it can be done. There are more things in my mind, but when it comes to any craft, it is part of the process to take out things, just as much as to include them in. When should I be back? I pray really soon! If I can do it, a week filled with nice posts seems to be the best way to celebrate this milestone! Hopefully before the weekend? In any case, wish you the best, my friend! Let us have a lovely set of days as we go. See you all again real soon! No worries. Farewell!
