In Which we have some July novelties and gratitudes

Good afternoon, almost evening, my dear friend, reader of this post! It is that time, when after a moment of productivity, I find myself out of ideas nor desire to do anything. Ah, sad how it goes, but one must have balance I suppose. I do say this mentioning the past weeks, given I haven't written, nor drawn much, and my desire to play games is fleeting, at times it is all I wanr to do, at others I am struggling for meaning. It does suck to have moments of demotivation and a tired mind, but I don't think there is much one can do to avoid resting. At least I can say it was a very positive blog birthday! I thank you for being here! And I hope you are okay. That all being said, I am very relieved I can type something here without dreading or panicking, be it at the blank page or at my blank mind. May this be a return to not as productive times as June, because those can't be manufactured that easily, but at least to more moments of activity creative wise. Concerning drawing, ...

In Which we celebrate Midmas, and the reason to do so.

Good afternoon, my friend! We did arrive at the midpoint of the week. How are you? As for me, I am okay. It has been a bit frustrating today, due to the fact my package has not yet arrived, but anyway. One step at a time. I have not eaten much, I should eat something, but first I wanted to visit the blog and do a nice post. And what a blessing to be here with you, for a nice afternoon!

You know something I could use? A Midmas. What is it, I hear you ask? Well, there is an unofficial festivity that some call Summerween, in northern countries of the anglosphere. It is essentially a small Halloween but on the summer months. If there can be a Summerween, then I see no reason I could not have my own Midmas, Christmas but on mid year, and this time, on the correct season, given it is Winter. I like it, I could really use a win, something fun, this could be it. Now, of course, this month already has some nice celebrations: Corn season with the day of St. John and St. Anthony. I am not catholic but I adore the holidays, specially when they have proper festivities! With, of course, the exception of carnival, but I say Carnival is not even canon with the bible... anyway, outside of the religious sphere, there is a date that means a lot to me, which is my blog Birthday! This year, the publication will be 7 years old, and it has been one I have updated without stop since its inception. There was a month in 2021 where I could not write, that is true, but apart from that month interruption, it has been a stable writing venue for me. And of course, how I appreciate you for being a part of my journey. But in any case, back to Midmas.

I mean, why not? I could work on some drawings themed for the holiday, could change the wallpapers in my computer and cellphone... I see no flaw. And with the other festivities, it can only be a superb addition! This could mean, as Christmas means when the time arrives, a moment of deliverance, relief, a moment to thank the Lord, and a reminder life is not just bad things, even when plenty of them happen. Life is nuanced, even if I feel terrible at moments, and the news are quite depressing. It is a time of great uncertainty. As a conservatarian, I and many of my fellows, were very optimistic with the great historical victory of Mr. Trump in America, which is the most important country on the globe and for good reason, plenty of reasons too. If I could have a say, as I am not an american citizen, I am on the most cursed and unhappy country of Brazil instead, even now, I would not have changed the vote, and I would vote as well, even if the choice of not voting was available. That being said, of course reality sets in. And reality, as life, is messy and nuanced, and not always points upwards, no matter the auspicious winds. Truth is: there is A LOT to do, so much on Trump's side of things, and as such, he is trying to roll in all of it as he can, but the scenario is far less positive for him and for us conservatarians, than the election victory would suggest. As Thatcher, as Reagan, one tries to tackle all issues all at once at all the time, because time is of the essence and the odds are never pointing on the side of minarchism. As a result of trying to do a lot all at once, the months have been an insane supersonic kaleidoscope, and no one can properly keep up with the changes, what stays the same, victories and losses, and all the while daily life goes, and our own affairs of life goes, imagine all of 100 thousand things at the same time, of course it would be a supersonic kaleidoscope. But there is more, I did mention before that there are forces on play trying to hijack the right, and move it towards a path that would lead to the death of the organic and multifaceted movement that I am a part of. Mr. Lindsay did mention that since before they were a noticeable force, and one very evil at that, the very appropriately mentioned "Woke Right", and the term "right" here used only because they are opposing the woke left. Imagine so many hundred thousand things happening all at once, and that is half of 2025, so far. One could use a bit of a break from the doom, from the dopamine rushes and the joy that is interrupted, and the gloom that is cut in half, and the news that seconds later lose its relevance. I say: Midmas is a proper cure for so much chaos. And therefore I say: Midmas it is, alongside Corn Season, Alongside The blog anniversary.

Happy Midmas, I say. Let us have a good meal to celebrate. Praise heavens for life thst keeps going, and grounding ourselves in objective reality around us, the reality that is orchestrated by the Lord of Hosts. For the announcement and promise of forgiveness, that is the birth of Jesus. And I say this not exactly being religious, but aknowledging that it is a positive force, the divine force. One does not need to be ardently on any denomination to recognize and celebrate and say Thank You Lord I am on a part of the world that still, even if just by a thread, aknowledges your culture. Happy Midmas. And make sure to get something nice on the store if you can, purchase something great and fun, will you? I would do no different.

And so, I wrap up today's post, ready to pick a nice christmas wallpaper for the phone and for the computer. And plan on the next drawing, too! Of course, I will be back here to the publication soon enough, maybe before next week, even, specially to celebrate the Blog's birthday. No worries, then! I should be back in no time, and we will have another great convo! Wish you the best, happy Midmas, and I see you once again real soon! Take care, of course!
