In Which August 2026 Ends, slightly above average, for all it is due

Good morning, dear friend, reader of this post! I trust it should be time for us now to wrap up the month of August! How was yours? As for my own, it went fast, and though not on the top 5 best months of my life, specially due to the bellow average birthday time, it was not a lost case scenario, in fact, retrospectively, it was a productive one, far more than I was anticipating, and specially concerning writing. It is true that financially it was a profoundly rough month, and in other aspects, such as the longing for chatting with my best friends more often, which for now could not happen, it went lackluster, but we did have had good news, such as the new DLC for Age of Empires 3 DE, coming, at least on the schedule, on September 10th. You know how chaotic a gane release can be, even of a DLC, reason why I don't know for sure if it will actually come on September, or will be delayed, but thinking that just two months ago we deemed Age 3 all but on maintenance mode, that is a remark...

In Which We talk a bit of Routine and some games

Good evening, my friend, dear reader of this present post!! Merry Christmas season of 2025, we approach its height! It is both wonderful and sad... it is most amazing because of the apex of the season's celebrations! It is sad because soon it will be another season reaching its end, and with that, another cycle will have to go forth, so we can see the season once more. It is what it is, I suppose, but also, quite sad that we can't have the amazing joy and relief of Christmas for longer.

Just happy it is the season, I mention from time to time. How are you, by the way, on this weekend, and how was your week? Do let me know! I am, overall, okay, in fact as okay as I can be. Some moments of exhaustion, I wish I could go see more christmas decorations, but I should visit grandma soon, for the season, that alone should renew myself, given it is good to get out of the house once in a while. I could maybe go to the mall at some point, the decor there will be most amazing to take a look at, but I should wait a bit more, I still have credit card dues to pay, and by paying every different due, I am investing on my mental health, too.

I hope at some point I can work on another christmas drawing for the season. I have been on a slow mode concerning creative endeavors, and I wonder even how will I treat my 2026. It is a bit early, I trust, to think so far ahead on the schedule of hobbies, but I dread burning out, and I think I have been exhausted the past months or so, with some moments of clarity, most of them being of running out of energy, mentally and physically, even. I am discouraged of mentioning it much, people will tell me to exercise as if to say "this is tackled, next petitioner", as I am a tick to be checked out. God knows I detest exercising.

Have I mention I did get some seasonal gifts for myself? I did get a new sweater, and as it arrived, yesterday, I was quite taken by its lovely fabric and texture. It has been a more mild late spring-early summer, so far I can even still wear my socks at night alongside my slippers, should I decide to do so. I wonder if this will be kept for January or February, and I hope so! What a joy to have at least a bit of fresh evenings. I did need to get some mosquito repellent to myself, the insects are very much back for the season, but apart from that, it is not that bad.

It has been a christmas for the games, as the fans released a new iteration for the famous mod for Civ 5, the Vox Populi, now with more features than before. Wonderful to see this beautiful game that is Civ 5 still having movement around it, years after its end of official development cycle. Civ is quite a pleasant game, but also can make me a bit fatigued mentally, and as such, I return to my recliner to rest and stretch my legs. To be fair, the season was always one for gaming, since before I can remember, as I have been into videogames for almost my entire life. Some special Christmases come to mind when talking about this: the one of 2014, when I revived Pharaoh and Empire Earth, that is one good example. That dripped into the season of 2015 as well. Most of them have a different game that sparkled my interest, though many dates feel blurred now, cannot figure out which is which, tragically so.

Because the post was started in one hour of the evening, and I went to sleep, and working on it now once more, it feels disjointed, I am trying to keep one piece cohesive, not sure if I will succeed, or if it matters, I am happy you are here, in any case. Should I move to wrap the blog post up now? Could be a good opportunity, as I already lost my train of thinking. Hopefully I will return here for a proper holiday post, one or two, and then we can try and wrap up December and 2025 as a whole! We will see, I cannot say in assurance I will have the energy for those ones, but for now, I wish you the best, farewell my friend, and once again, a very happy Christmas 2025!!!
