In Which we Wrap up February and I think of my upcoming appointments with the doctors...

Good morning, friend! Happy Saturday! The last week of February went by quite fast, and here it is, the end of such month, one to set the tone for 2026, or at least parts of it. I am happy to have you here today in the divagation store and society. How are you? As for me, I am okay, it is that moment of the month when food misses the fridge, and the gas misses the stove, it means it is almost time for more grocery shopping, to be done ideally as soon as possible, with the first day of March, or so. As for the month, I can say with some degree of fulfillment that at least it was a productive one. I have worked on 7 drawings in total, which is quite above average concerning this area. I did write about the same quantity on the blog as well, and I did reach around 900 entries, which I am so happy to have done it.  The weather has become decidedly hotter, given February is the apex of summer on that regard. I am dreaming of the rains that will come at some point, but for now I just hop...

In which the author shares a poem he made!! "The Birkenia"

Hello to you all, happy Monday and good night to you all!!!! How are you doing and how things are going?? As usual, I wish you the best and I do hope things are going fine with you, and you had a nice day!! As for me, college was fine, but the day was extremely hot, so that's sad, but now it's night so things are a little more chill, so anyway, things are fine. I'm just happy to be writing this post and sharing it with you, dear reader! And today I have a different thing to share with you guys! A poem I made, on a Silurian fish called Birkenia, who was nothing like a modern fish, the kind of ones we see on the rivers today!!!!

Here's a Birkenia, by the way, lovely fish

This is how it goes, guys, it's my first poem, probably it's crappy, but who knows, maybe you'll like it! And maybe I'll read it better and grow to like it more! Let's jump to it!

THE BIRKENIA
By Daniel M.

The Birkenia is swimming in the Silurian River
With difficulty he goes in the silver waters of the river
More like dragging himself he goes as he has no flippers
Only a thick skin he has to cover him from his shivers.

Poor Birkenia has no jaws
So his small mouth is always open
In hopes of getting his food on the grond.

And those Ross-like Paleontologists say he's an "able" swimmer
How could he swim with no flippers?
How could hee eat with no jaws?
How funny is life for this Birkenia
What can this fish do
For him these are no flaws!

He can only keep on going
Defying biology as his stomach grows
So is the life of Birkenia in the Silurian Age.

He doesn't know his name
It was given  him by us humans
As he's uncovered from earth
He has been dead for Eons.

And this odd poem is what we have for today! This poem was THE STRUGGLE for me, it felt like I was left in a maze and the way to scape it is only by using words! I just had the Birkenia stucked in my head for YEARS and finally now he's out of my head and swimming into life again through my words! I'll try to write more poems about the words that doesn't leave my head, probably ones related to Paleontology cause I love it and it has so many complicated names! I still want to write about the plant Cooksonia and the shores of a Ordovician sea. But that will stay for another ocasion, for now Birkenia is all we have.
You're the very best, see you on Sketch Wednesday!!!
