In Which the Divagation Store reaches the 900 posts Milestone! Reflection on Why...

Good morning, my friend, dear reader of this present post! How are you today, this new week? It should be the last one for February, quite soothing that it will end on a Sunday as well, given it started on a Sunday, too! As for me, I did sleep quite a bit yesterday, but I cannot complain of not being a productive day, given I finished reading the biography of Madame de Pompadour, written by Nancy Mitford. Quite a good one, and in fact, I would say is a great one! What a remarkable lady she was, the great patronesse of Rococo, though she sensed a move in France towards a more neoclassical direction, and overall set the sails on the direction of the style of the next era, the one called Louis XVI style, though in truth it was the queen Marie Antoinette who truly set the tone. I like this topic, and I love her majesty. Though the late rococo she preferred was hinted with an antique tint, it was not the more sober neoclassical of the 1790's and the Napoleonic era. She brought flowers a...

Song of the week! In which we go Synthpop again!

Hello everyone! Happy Friday to you! And good afternoon/good evening! It's almost 6PM in the moment I started writing today's post! It's the height of the summer season, though, so the sky is still very bright! I can also perceive that is indeed summer by how hot it is today! I've been struggling the whole day, no electric fan is enough to make this weather discomfort go away, and this even affects my mood badly, my mind is uneasy as I try to run away of the disgusting sweat, I absolutely hate sweat. How I hate hot weather, particularly today, it's terrible. But anyway, I hope it may improves soon. I need an air conditioner right now. I hope the weather is better where you are, dear reader. I love the cold and I love snow, I wish the weather was cold here, at least it would be easier to manage, and anyway I just prefer the cold in the end I guess... The rains of summer are not to be trusted. They bring freshness only when it's raining, after that the weather gets even hotter, so yea, that's hell, but anyway, enough of my lamentations. How are you today, and how are things going? I hope you are fine and I wish you the best!
Today is song of the week day! Lovely Friday! And as I was listening to some songs yesterday and today, I decided to highlight some of my recent discoveries! I am in need of new songs these days, songs that may me feel excited and all that, after the disco period of my life, and the more Synthpop October, and of course the songs of Christmas season, January came with nothing in specific. It still is a blank canvas, a time in which I'm still searching for new things. Well, but finding wonderful tunes like the one I'm about to share makes me hopeful I'll be dancing through some new sounds soon! Here we go Synthpop again with New Order!

New Order - Temptation

This is a really frentic song for a really frantic style, I still don't know much about New Order or Synthpop in general, except that every synthpop song I find, I love, from Blue Monday - also from  New Order - to more contemporary approaches to it. Being a remarkably chamaleon-like, eclectic and crazy style, coming after the sumptuous Disco era and delivering an also very crazy style in the 80's, one that we already know, coming with huge hairstyles, heavy makeup, unmatching clothes and a very carefree way of life, something I love! The whole individuality and crazyness of the 80's, demolished by the minimalism of the 90's and 2000's, coming back now, definitely comes with extreme opinions, as for me, I love it, there's a lot of rococo in it, which I love! In fact, the soundtrack of my favorite movie Marie Antoinette is filled with synthpop and songs from the 80's, it's wonderful! Anyway, here we have the song of today! If you don't have Spotify, please don't worry, as today I have the Youtube link to it as well! Here we go again:

It's still hot, and the night is here, but my mood has improved, maybe I was just a bit hungry, who knows? Maybe getting out of home was a good thing! I do love going out! Anyway, you are the best, dear reader, thank you so much for being here, I'm so thankful, always. Have a great night and I see you on the next post!
