In Which we have the nostalgia for the wrong year, and hope for Venezuela finally

Good morning, sir, happy Saturday, madame, jolly readers of this present post! All of you a dear friend in potential! How are you? As for me, I am tired but okay. A bit battered, true, I eat and feel no relieve of hungry feeling, maybe I need something more substancial, and we do have food here today, thankfully! It is the beginning of the month, and as such, mom did the groceries, I did some purchases of light snacks for myself. I am aware that some moments due to logistical issues, or sometimes lack of funds, we are out of our refreshments, but today is not one of those. So, my current lack of nourishment is just myself not wanting to cook, not right now. Even if this affects my mood, there is much to celebrate actually. On the third day of the year, Venezuela has finally reason to rejoice. The misdeeds of the demon dictador Maduro finally came to haunt him, as Trump, taking back the heeds of foreign affairs from the inaction of Biden, has arrested such bad and communist and evil (to...

Joey and the barbershop incident, part 2

This is the Part 2 of the story

...
“Excuse me, mister, are you the same person that did my hair?”
“I believe so, Mister, why the question?”
The voice of the man was different though, so was his whole completion. Joey looked around and even the barbershop looked different. But perhaps was only his impression, lost in his thoughts, he probably didn’t pay enough attention to everything around him. Now he was going back home and make more plans. Absent minded, Joey left the barber shop.
Except he could not go home, because his car was nowhere to be found, he tried locating it with his car keys, nothing came out of it. His phone had no sign as well. He quickly realized something was wrong, he started going around, and looking at the buildings around, all beaux arts, all like Paris in its golden days, something was wrong, this was not his town, but maybe he wasn’t paying attention, so he kept on walking, trying to remain calm, he walked, and walked some more, only to find out, after going a block, he really was not in the same place as before, and his car was gone. He was perplexed, nothing like this has happened before in his life. He barely could find his way back to the barbershop, one he realized was definitely not the one he entered in that afternoon.
“Excuse me, mister?  You, who say who did my hair”
“Sir, we were looking for you, you left without paying”
“My mind is off today, mister, something is wrong, this is not the same place I was when I arrived”
“Sir, just pay what you owe us”
“But something is wrong! I can’t find my car, everything around me is different!”
“Sorry, how come, mister?”
“You are not the same person that did my hair when I arrived here, you are someone different!”
“Sure, there has been a mistake, I did all the service to you”
“Okay, I’m sorry I left without paying, it was something that slipped my mind, here’s the money”
“Okay, thank you… wait a minute, sir, we don’t accept such currency…”
“Do not accept Dollars? Where the hell I am? This is surely not America”
“I’m afraid not, you are on the land of Danieria, sir”
“No no no this can’t be happening….”
“Sir, sit down, Manuel, bring me some glass of water!”
The barber started to realize Joey was indeed lost, somehow. Manuel, the receptionist, did what the man demanded him to do.
“Please, calm down, sir, thank you Manuel”
“Look, I was in my hometown in Texas this morning, I came to the barbershop in Austin to have a haircut, now I’m in this Danieria place in the middle of nowhere, it’s like some sort of witchcraft”
“Well… I just realized I don’t know your name, sir…”
“I’m Joey, and you are…”
“Bjarksen. I have no idea what is going on with you, Austin is extremely far away from here. If what you are saying is correct, I never experienced something like this before.”
“Like I said, I’m Joey, Bjarksen, and I was in my hometown not too long ago, something dragged me here, and I don’t know what… I don’t know not even how to get to the bottom of this!”
Bjarksen sat next to Joey and both were clueless, extremely lost, have no idea what was going on. Joey just wanted to go home. Bjarksen was struggling to understand how Joey was on his barbershop in the first place.
“So, you say you come from Austin?”
“Yes, nice place, I like my homeland”
“I like my homeland, Danieria, so I perfectly understand you, sir… I couldn’t imagine what would be of me if something dragged me away from here like you said it happened to you”
“Look, I just want to go home! I want to get my life together, starting with my hair and beard”
“A haircut is a good way to start a new era in your life, you know”
“It’s true!”
They both sat in silence.
“I had this customer once, his name was Geoffrey, he had a crazy hair, I will never forget him”
“Tell me more”
