Quote of the moment Vol.2

“Any one thinking of the Holy Child as born in December would mean by it exactly what we mean by it; that Christ is not merely a summer sun of the prosperous but a winter fire for the unfortunate.” - G. K. Chesterton, The Streets of the City, The New Jerusalem

Highlighted Quotes That Caught my Attention At The Moment

In Which It is the Height of the Season, at last!

Hello, sir! Hello, madame! Good morning, my friend, reader of the present post! Happy December, and it is a happy moment, as I can now say in full force the beautiful Merry Christmas sentence! How are you, today? How is the weather? I am okay, yesterday was pretty bad, though. Ah... just tech issues, you know? I felt I lost most of my day wrestling against Sims 3, and I lost this round. I uninstalled and reinstalled the game multiple times and the results were worse and worse, until I lost all my patience. The future for this game in my life is uncertain, though I never fully discard something with a declaration. It has been a particularly rough season for this now zombie franchise. The old friendly ghost of the seas disappeared, and with him, the whole of supply of Sims 4, the door for this one game now for me is positively shut, not that I wanted it open anyway, that game is mediocre and aggravating. Sims 3 is so much better, and yet, I am taking, unoficially, a break from it. A brea...

In which we talk about my Annomania!

Hello everyone and good morning! How are you today? A new week indeed arises, this week will be marked by the release of Anno's new DLC Land of Lions, which shall be interesting for sure! How was the weekend? I slept in the house of my grandma Saturday, something I havent done in ages (thanks, Covid) and it was awesome! I wrote on my blog and played lots of Anno, more about this soon enough. How is the weather? Here, as spring advances, it gets hotter and hotter, and that's quite painful for me and for those around me, we don't like the heat down these parts! I reached the conclusion most people like temperatures when they're amene, between 60-80 degrees (even if 80 is already too hot) or 15-25 degrees if you are on the Celsius side. I, for one, and I can only speak for myself, for sure, prefer that way. But nature is mean towards us living in the tropics, those who live in colder regions can survive in temperatures bellow 10 degrees, as at least I found it hard to exist in such weather, even if I love it ideally. Anyway, it is a Spring, and a Monday, and I HAVE NO CLASS, WHAT, YAHOO! Anyway, let's take advantage of my good creative mood right now, at least for writing, and jump towards some Anno!

This past week and following weekend I found myself addicted to Anno 1800! I completed the campaign of the game for the second time on stream, and started working more properly towards the development of my cities. If you are not aware, the campaign tells a bit of the story of the Goode family, you are the eldest of the family, and your sister, Hannah Goode, introduces you and your friend, Aarhant, to the plot of the ongoing novel. Your father, Samuel Goode, died on a prison cell, and his brother, your uncle Edvard, is taking his inheritance and being mean towards you all. And so it goes, I won't tell what happens next, but a huge plot twist happens! I also won't tell who's my favorite character of the story, because that would be a spoiler too, so anyway. it's hard to tell what happens after the campaign because that also means some spoilers, so let's say you are left with cities to administrate. That's a challenge, but a delicious one! It keeps things interesting for sure, and playing Anno with all the DLCS enabled, including the pack that introduces you to Dr. Hugo Mercier, the Anarchist, it's a magical experience, I can't even think how awesome of an experience it will be once the new DLC Land of Lions is released, I hope it may be good, and it sounds like it will be gamechanging, epic, necessary, just like a DLC should be!

Anno comes in phases for me, from time to time it ressurges as an incredibly addicting game, the best of the Anno series, that's my conclusion, even better than Anno 1404, what a renaissance of the genre, after the boring experience that Anno 2205 proved to be, not only for me but in general! At its best, Anno is the game I dream about, once I'm in my Anno phases, I live and breathe the game, thinking of ways for improving my city and the quality of life of its inhabitants, and there is so much to do! And with Land of Lions, the promise is that it will have even more to be done! Anyway, this post is getting big, so I'll stop here for now, if this new phase fades like they usually do when I burn out of the game, I won't write about the game for a while. If it lasts, well, then I'll write about it again, sooner or later! I hope I don't sleep on my schedule this week, as it happens constantly unfortunately. Let's see how it goes! Thank you so much guys for hanging out with me, see yall real soon!
