One day, some months after he started traveling further and further away, he returned to his hometown once more, to see his family.
One day, after singing at a local pub, one fan came to speak to him, extremely enthusiastic on how talented he was, how amazing he was. She gave him money and her best socks, which were so fantastic Zach took notice in an instant.
“WOW THOSE SOCKS ARE IMPRESSIVE” he said “WHERE DID YOU GET IT?!”
“THEY’RE GREAT, RIGHT?? Well, one of my relatives brought me from the distant land of Socks!”
“LAND OF SOCKS?!”
“Yes, so he told me. There, he said, it’s the place they make the most fancy and mind blowing socks in the whole world!”
“Excuse me, my dear fan, but do you know where this gentleman is, the one that told you about the land of socks and give you this amazing one you’re now so kindly giving to me?”
“Why, of course I do! He’s one of my cousins! He lives nearby, let me take you to him!”
Extremely excited, Zach and his fan went to meet the man that, in Zach’s eyes, was already one of the most fantastic human beings alive! He ran to the house, and his fan was so in shock her idol was with him she ran too with him.
“ZACH, YOU’RE SO AMAZING, I DO LOVE YOU!!!!”
‘THANK YOU!! YOU’RE TOO KIND!!!!!!!!! I APPRECIATE THAT A LOT”
They quickly reached the house, and after knocking properly, the cousin of the girl asked:
“Who’s here?”
“It’s me, Bobby! I came with a visitor to see you!”
“I’ll be there in a minute, Tricia!”
The man opened the door in a short notice, and said:
“Well, nice to see you! Come in! And who’s the gentleman that you bring?”
“I’m Zachary D’Onofrio, sir! It’s a pleasure to meet you, and I really do need to ask you some questions!”
“Questions? Well, come in, when we are properly accommodated you can ask me anything”
They went to the fireplace room, the man turned on the illumination, and then he got a sit.
“So, you say you have questions for me? Do ask me them, why!”
“Mr…”
“Bobby, call me Bobby”
“Thank you. So yes, Bobby, I do have a question for you! Your relative just gave me those amazing socks! And I am impressed by them beyond measure! Please, where did you get them! She told me of a Land of Socks! Please tell me!”
“Well, Zach, I can see you like socks! If you indeed do, this is the place to be, the Land of Socks! It’s in a very distant place, and the journey is complicated, took me some several days to reach there with my carriage, and some of the places in the way are not too inviting… But I went there once, since I had some stuff to solve, and I got some socks for my relatives coming back..”
“This is amazing! You see, I’m traveling these lands collecting socks for my collection! In return, I sing to people, this has been my life for some months now and this is my reason to be alive! I’m greatly interested in this fantastic land! Is it even real?? How do I get there?? Please help me!”
“Like I said, it’s not an easy journey, those lands are in the middle of a thick forest, and it’s a place filled with impossible stuff, like small people living in miniature cities, and a frozen ice cream path is in the way, if you want to go there, you have to be extra careful! This is why barely no one goes there. Well, on the border of this land, you can find a small access to an ocean, but unless you have a strong ship, the best way to reach that land still is going on the continent. I have some copies of the map of that land, as I got as a souvenir, you can take one, if you want to go there.”
“Thank you so much!!! How can I repay you for this??? Do you want some money?? I have some coins with me!”
“Well, you can just calm down and stay for dinner, this is how you can repay me, good sir. Maybe you can sing too, I’d like to hear your voice finally, my cousin here says a lot about you.”
And so Zach stayed, and so Zach had dinner and sang for the family, who appreciate him a lot. After this, he took his stuff and some gifts from the kind Bobby and started his journey to the land of socks. This is how our history begins.
