Quote of the moment Vol.2

In Which there is a shy but perceptive trend upwards: Quiet good moments ahead? One can hope...

Good morning, my friend, reader of this present post!! Wish you, of course, a wonderful Sunday, Sunday of Christmas season 2025, the last Sunday for this chaotic year. I should mention that it is not a bad one, on the whole, but definitely a very mind intensive one, as such, exhausting. I could compare it to a very intensive town holiday celebration, where on the whole, there were incidents, but not enough to spoil the bigger picture.  Today, much to my glee, has been a productive day, after many other days where I felt terrible, slept through most of it, and when awaken, second guessed my every move, mind working much more than it should, I suppose that is the OCD. The reason why I am on a better state, I trust, is due to having all my meds again. And also, having access to the appropriate sweetener again. Not only coffee tastes better with sucralose rather than sugar, it is also the case that sugar is not exactly good to have as casually. I do love it and will never disavow it, b...

In Which Many games are released and September is close to ending

Hello, my good friend, excellent reader of this post, and of course, I wish you a happy upcoming Friday, and a good evening! How are you? How have you been? Ah, I know, I have not been entirely active here on the blog, neither have I drawn much. I do mention that the balance between a hobby and being productive in such activities is quite a challenge. But it is fine, I am okay... It is not too bad, just tiresome at moments.

The reason for such fatigue is due to the avalanche of releases in the video game world that I saw. We had the release of the new DLC and update for Victoria 3, the National Awakening. We also saw the release of two very small and niche, but promising, indie city builders: Celestial Empire, and Pompeii: A Legacy. Both are games I am still to try. There is also the new update for the also small, also niche, Ara: History Untold. That title has been received in lukewarm fashion, as its release was very much bellow average. I moved away from this one, because my computer cannot run it too well anyway.

Victoria 3's new DLC is a needed adding of journal entries and events for the Central European region, one that has the Habsburg Empire. The update that comes with it made playing in this region not really a rewarding or enjoyable experience, unfortunately, because of the amount of rebellions that explode. Some have criticized the game before for being too slow, too quiet. Now I will criticize it because I did not mind the pacing, if that meant I would not be overwhelmed, and see the empire explode into so many different fractions. Frustrating. It should be corrected in future patches, but how I detest the cynicals that come and sing that the game is failed, it is a cautionary tale. I will deny that, while keeping my 7 out of 10 for the new wave of add-ons, so to speak. I should also mention the bugs, but those come with every major update, apart from the more annoying ones, there is not much to be said. I still lovr Victoria 3, even with the new add-ons being mild, and in need of more workings.

The other titles I am still to try, but in any case, I have seen some crashes this past week on my games, quite disappointed in that. They happened on Civ 5, that I lamented of its architecture limiting its scope. They also ocurred on Anno 1800, on Sims 3. I can assume it is because of the mods I have been trying, but still, oh how sad I cannot have a new computer at this moment. It is what it is, should change sometime, but while it occurs, I lament. Maybe could be the updates on NVidia as well, I am not entirely to understand of the nuances of technology. In any case, when a technology is sufficiently advanced, it becomes hard to separate it from magic.

Apart from games, I praise heavens that the following weeks were not as exhausting and as filled with bad events, as that fateful week, when dear Mr. Kirk was violently taken away from us. There was one quite shocking event recently closer to home, I am not even sure if I should mention it, given I don't want to raise alarms, but there has been an arson of grave happenings in a department store, a state of distance away. They burnt their statue of Liberty, the one that is on the gates of the parking lot. Their violence, their glee in making anyone they don't like to suffer, makes the attitude of Mrs. Kirk, on her husband's memorial service, of forgiving publicly the assassin of her husband, and to say she will not insist on the death penalty to him, if it comes for her to make such decision in a court, not sure how it works, ever more extraordinary. All I can say is, the left can spread their evils all they want, with people like Mrs. Kirk representing many conservatives and non-leftists, we did win the culture war, if any, haven't we? I am more of a conservatarian, as I mentioned, not all my views follow their interpretation of the words of Christ, either, but it does not matter. I want to emulate this attitude of forgiveness, of not being resentful, not allowing such bad emotion take hold of me.

The post is getting quite long, I should start moving towards the wrap up, but I wanted to mention other thing, I did listen to the podcast episode of new discourses, when James spoke of his experience on having Charlie as a friend... That was an immensely difficult episode to listen to, because Mr. Kirk had to leave us not of his own choice, and also because of how good of a friend he seemed to have been. It is other thing that hits me home, I wish I could be this for my friends too, uplifting. Yet I have been mistreated by many. Not as much as Charles was, though. Such is life, one can only keep going, and really hope no one decides it is time to take us out. God may concede me some more decades to live, if I can ask, may they be more than some, and may life be fulfilling. And on my end, that it may be carefree and joyful. And on that note, perhaps a good moment to finish this day's entry for the blog! I will return real soon, though, so don't worry! In fact, I may be back at some point perhaps after the weekend, wish you the best on the weekend, wish you the best.
